I first met Charlotta at WOMEX (World Music Export) in Manchester, while exploring the various stands. It was the 10 a.m. and the Finland booth was already generously offering gin and tonics to everyone; she handed me a promotional flyer for her band and I asked her: “what kind of music do you play?” - she replied: “we create music using sounds from the forest.”
That’s how she introduced me to one of the most unique, sustainable and captivating concepts the music world has ever seen.
Her project is called “nouse luonto”: is a fragment of an old magical spell, summoning courage and grit, but in the original Finnish, "luonto" is also the word for nature.
