On June 4, 2008, Jodi drove to Travis's Mesa home and killed him in his shower, stabbing him twenty-seven times, slashing his throat, and shooting him in the head. She told three different stories to police: claiming she wasn't there, then blaming mysterious intruders, finally admitting the killing but claiming self-defense. Her eighteen-day testimony during the 2013 trial was demolished by forensic evidence and her pattern of lies. The jury convicted her of first-degree murder, sentencing her to life without parole.
