    Oct 23 2025

In this episode, I reflect on how gaming has evolved from a simple hobby into an expensive, subscription-driven ecosystem. From rising console prices and $100 blockbuster titles to the temptation of cloud and PC gaming, I share my personal journey of learning to game smarter—balancing enjoyment, impulse, and practicality. Through buying, selling, and rediscovering consoles, I've found that being intentional with my time and spending keeps the joy of gaming alive, even as the costs continue to climb.

  • 28 Years Later Spoiler Review-$151 Million Later
    Oct 3 2025

I'm back on the podcast after a break in September. Today, I want to share my thoughts on '28 Years Later'—a film that Jason and I found pretty impressive. It has definitely made my list of favorites this year, alongside 'The Amateur'. I was particularly struck by the cast, especially the young lead, and the way the film balances emotional intensity with moments of humor that made us chuckle.

Jason agreed, noting that the lighter moments added depth compared to darker apocalyptic tales like 'The Road'. We recalled some standout scenes, such as the crawling zombies, the memorable Alpha villain, and Ralph Fiennes' quirky doctor, along with the amusing gang in their stylish tracksuits. While we felt some plot points, especially the mother's death, could have been developed further, we both appreciated the world-building and performances. I rated it a 9/10, while Jason gave it an 8.1/10. We also considered the potential for a trilogy, especially with the sequel, 'The Bone Temple', coming out in January 2026.

On a positive note, I mentioned that '28 Years Later' had a budget of $60 million and has already grossed $151 million worldwide, which is a good sign for its success before considering VOD or streaming sales. We left the theater feeling satisfied with how the film strikes a balance between seriousness

  • The Ballerina Spoiler Review-$132 Million Later
    Aug 24 2025

On this episode, Jason G and I review 'Ballerina', a spinoff set in the 'John Wick' universe between chapters three and four. We praise the film's action, calling it some of the best in the series, with standout scenes, such as a flamethrower sequence. I mention struggling to fully buy Ana de Armas as an action star, while Jason suggests the director's style may emphasize looks over grit. We also note the inclusion of Lance Reddick's character, filmed before his passing, and appreciate how the action feels intense but more grounded compared to other over-the-top set pieces in this universe. We give the movie an overall rating of 7 to 7.8 out of 10.

The conversation concludes with thoughts on the box office and franchise. Despite a \$90 million budget, the film made about \$132 million worldwide, which may not cover total costs. However, it is performing well on VOD platforms. Lionsgate has not confirmed a 'Ballerina' sequel, but 'John Wick 5' is in development with Keanu Reeves returning.
