Power in Numbers will explore the political, economic, and cultural forces shaping Native and non-Native communities in the U.S., blending data, polling, and research with human stories to make complex trends meaningful and personal. Through conversations with experts and community voices, the podcast turns insight into collective understanding by offering connection, clarity, and hopeful paths forward in uncertain times.

Throughout the season, Crystal will be joined by two powerhouse researchers — Celinda Lake of Lake Research Partners and Charlene Polite Corley of Nielsen — to break down their latest research into Native power and visibility. Drawing from the Indigenous Futures Survey – which captures the voices of nearly three thousand Indigenous registered voters representing over 240 unique Tribal affiliations – and focus groups, as well as an online survey of over five thousand non-Native adults in the U.S., the study provides insights into the priorities of Native peoples today and non-Native peoples’ perceptions.

Each episode will feature today’s hottest comedians unpacking the toughest topics surrounding our current political and cultural climate. From Naomi Ekperigin, Chris Gethard, Jackie Keliia, Corey Ryan Forrester, Jana Schmieding, Suzanne Lambert, Alise Morales, and Milly Tamarez, these entertainers will step into the “Pop Culture Corner” and offer a comedic monologue in response to the episode’s central theme.

  • Connection & Isolation
    May 19 2026

Feeling lonely? You're not alone! The loneliness epidemic is making us more isolated, angry, and disconnected than ever. But is loneliness a symptom of our increasingly divided society, or the cause of it? Our hosts Crystal Echo Hawk and Celinda Lake are joined by a distinguished panel of guests, including author and podcast host Mike de la Rocha / mrmikedelarocha , writer and DJ Mamoudou N’diaye / mamoudouaboutnothing , Minnesota State Senator Mary Kunesh / mkmkunesh , and comedian Jackie Keliiaa / jackiecomedy to examine how authoritarian movements thrive when people feel separated, powerless, and alone, and why rebuilding human connection may be one of the most powerful acts of resistance available to us.

Through discussion, humor, personal stories, and in-depth cultural analysis, we'll unpack the crisis of social fragmentation and explore how empathy, community, and togetherness can push back against division. This is a conversation about politics, culture, media, belonging, and what it means to truly reconnect with each other in an increasingly lonely world.
