  • 4 | Everything is spiritual
    Jul 21 2025

As cliche as it may sound, everything is spiritual.

Dan Miller wrote a book, 48 Days to the Work You Love, in which he pushes people to pursue the voice of God— that calling. Even in your vocation.

(Note that word vocation— we don’t use it so much any more, but it’s so much more powerful that career. It implies voice— or calling— that God actually leads us into something we do all day, everyday to not only support our families but also live-out a Kingdom purpose.)

Miller reminds us that in the Biblical mindset from which Jesus lived, there was no distinction as to who was called and who wasn’t.

Anyone can hear the Voice and follow…

    He writes,

There is a Hebrew word, avodah, from which come both the words “work" and “worship." To the Hebrew man, his Thursday morning activities were just as much an expression of worship as being in the synagogue on the Sabbath.

Nothing in Scripture depicts the Christian life as divided into sacred and secular parts. Rather, it shows a unified life, one of wholeness, in which everything we do is service to God, including our daily work, whatever that may be.

    💐

In this episode Marilyn talks about her ongoing spiritual journey…

… and how God continued revealing Himself to her in new ways— even as she walked deeper into her vocation.

    💐

Marilyn discovered needed to get up early and start her day with God. Though we often overly spiritualize it, let’s get practical.

This comes down to managing your time.

Yes, sometimes a strong spiritual walk is a simple as starting to manage your schedule.

    So, here’s what I want to do…

As we conclude this lesson, let’s play lesson 7 from Marilyn’s Rookie of the Year course— it’s all about time management that touches every area of your life.

And, if you’ll look in the show notes, there’s a link to an eBook + audiobook she has on managing your time.

  • 3 | Divine strategies for the daily stuff
    Jul 14 2025

God has the solutions, the strategies, and the systems you need in order to reach the potential He has placed inside of you. And it looks a little different for each of us, because we all have a Divine call on our lives.

Marilyn continues her story and talks more about going to work as a new real estate professional.

    She learned—

⭐️ how she wanted to identify / present herself to others

⭐️ how business could become a platform to serve

⭐️ how the first transition God presented her (i.e., moving from a comfortable career in medical billing and into real estate) wasn’t the end, but just the beginning…

  • 2 | Obedience doesn’t mean “easy” (I failed the exam 6 times)
    Jul 7 2025

God’s open doors aren’t always easy. They usually require growth and change…

It took Marilyn 7 tries— the number of completion— to pass the real estate exam and obtain her license. That meant the people she met in class had all passed and were working by the time she (finally) made it to the office for her first day of work.

But there was more to it than that.

She pivoted careers in her 40s, just when most people “settle in” for a stretch. And that meant going back to waiting tables, juggling the bills, and stressing about whether or not the car would get repo’d.

    😲

    By the way….

As she launched into her new career, Marilyn discovered that the God who took her in that direction ALSO had strategies and ideas she could implement to reach new levels of success.

But she learned she didn’t need to just “partner” with God in her business, she needed to make Him the CEO…

  • 1 | God pushed me out of my comfort zone
    Jun 30 2025

Marilyn worked in medical billing— and did a great job of it— for 10 years.

All of that came crashing down when, suddenly, she was let go.

Here’s the thing about abrupt endings (or any endings, for that matter). At those points we can ask ourselves one of two questions:

    ⁉️ Why did this happen?

    Or, we can ask—

⁉️ What does this now make possible?

Marilyn discovered that comfort (it was such a good job) is often the enemy of walking in your calling. Yet, once you step forward, you begin noticing God in all of the details of your life.

In this episode, she shares the unforeseen ending that opened the door to a new beginning in real estate…

    🌷

Now, as a prelude to episode 2…

Obedience and “open doors” aren’t always easy. Sometimes, God’s best requires even more trust than just staying where you are…

… because the plans He has for each of us are so much infinitely bigger than we can imagine.

And, they’re designed not only to make an impact on us, but on our families… our communities… and the people we interact with every single day.
