  • Life Is a Long Song — Jethro Tull Part 1, 1968-1976
    Nov 26 2025

Join us for the first part of our journey through the music and history of Jethro Tull, from their first album This Was through 1976’s Too Old To Rock and Roll; To Young To Die.

From their humble beginnings as the John Evan band, Jethro Tull has seen its share of great musicians pass through its ranks, with Ian Anderson remaining the constant. Let’s go up the ‘pool from down the smoke below, to taste my mum's jam sarnies and see our Aunty Flo.

  • Episode 56: Prog World Roundup, November 2025
    Nov 12 2025

A new edition of our slice of prog music happenings for November 2025. We start with the sad news of John Lodge’s passing. John was not only the bass player for the Moody Blues, but also wrote and sang some of their most enduring classics such as “Ride My See Saw” and “I’m Just a Singer in a Rock and Roll Band,” in addition to a long solo career. RIP.

We discuss new and upcoming releases from King Crimson, Rick Wakeman, Mike Oldfield and more. And some new prog books are either just out or forthcoming, including an autobiography from Gentle Giant singer and music industry executive Derek Schulman. Finally, Jay walks us through the new book on Yes tour programs through the years from the Gottlieb Brothers.

  • Episode 55: Pink Floyd History and Releases — The Middle and Later Years, 1973-2014
    Oct 30 2025

Join us for a journey through space and time with Pink Floyd! This episode covers the albums from Dark Side of the Moon through The Endless River, and everything in between. Except Live 8; we forgot to mention the Live 8 reunion. Also, please excuse some minor sound issues.

Pink Floyd created many sounds and approaches that formed the backbone for a lot of the progressive music. The band also perfected the use of space and atmosphere in their music that defined electronic and space music for years to come. Enjoy the ride!
