Welcome to Read Along Radio, the podcast that turns reading struggles into reading success with exciting and thrilling stories.

In the previous episodes we met Robin Kould as he started his first day at a new school in a new life. He encountered two kids spray-painting a dog and tried to stop them, but ended up getting blamed for their crime. Robin wound up being assigned 100 hours of community service work at the local pound, getting a three day suspension from school, and was required to tour the local jail. We got a glimpse of Robin’s special gift of being able to communicate with dogs. We also accompanied him as he toured the local jail as part of his court assigned “disposition”. An incident with an inmate cut his tour short, but Robin experienced enough to know he never wants to be put there.

On Robin’s second try at a first day of school, he met Mary Yen, an eighth-grade classmate who wants to be a lawyer. He didn’t like her, but she is the only one in his class who talks to him. Robin has explained the incident that got him in trouble to his Uncle Damian and decided he wants to prove his innocence and clear his record. During his first attempt to do this, he learned how easy it was to jump to a wrong conclusion, and embarrassed himself by accusing the wrong person. He finally managed to track down the real culprits. After hearing their story and learning that Bombo will be euthanized if Greg Peterson doesn’t get out of jail in time to claim his dog, Robin switches his focus to proving Greg’s innocence.

Robin and Mary exhaust all of their ideas for getting Greg Peterson out of jail in time to save Bombo. They haven’t found a way to get the dog adopted—even temporarily. Robin talks Judy, the manager of the pound, into letting him take Bombo for a last walk. Things got pretty exciting when Bombo pulled him all over town. Robin ended up having to call Mary for help because he couldn’t make Bombo return to the shelter.

In this episode, Mary explains how she got Judge Fairchild to send the police to help Robin, and we learn who really robbed the liquor store.

Welcome to Read Along Radio, the podcast that turns reading struggles into reading success with exciting and thrilling stories.

In the previous episodes we met Robin Kould as he started his first day at a new school in a new life. He encountered two kids spray-painting a dog and tried to stop them, but ended up getting blamed for their crime after the two kids ran away leaving him holding a can of spray paint.

On Robin’s second try at a first day of school after finishing his three-day suspension, he met Mary Yen, an eighth-grade classmate who wants to be a lawyer. Meeting her may have been worse than his jail tour and three-day suspension combined. She had a know-it-all attitude that made him wish he’d never met her.

Robin has explained the incident that got him in trouble to his Uncle Damian and decided he wants to prove his innocence and clear his record. He found it easy to jump to a wrong conclusion and embarrassed himself by accusing the wrong person.

In this episode, Robin finally manages to track down the real culprits. After hearing their story and learning that Bombo will be euthanized if Greg Peterson doesn’t get out of jail in time to claim his dog, Robin switches his focus to proving Greg’s innocence.
