After watching the movie yesterday, I can honestly say that I thoroughly enjoyed it and it’s a delightful treat wrapped up with a promise to scare you. In other words, it’s a devilish good time that brings back a lot of nostalgic fuzziness that not only looks great, but it’s an endearing love letter to the Satanic Panic.
It was great speaking to Riley about his role in this film and gaining the insight behind the set productions, the make-up, and practical effects. He really went into detail about how it was set up and how the on-screen chemistry went so well between the actors. I am sure that there is more to be told about the film, but I am glad that this movie finally came around as a part of the V/H/S Universe.
In closing: there’s truly something for everyone in this movie, some sweet, some sour, but all vastly satisfying and it might even rot your teeth, but V/H/S/Halloween is proof that this is one annual ritual that deserves to be revisited year after year and be careful of any phallic shaped chocolates.
