What do we do when we can’t do anything about the situation we’re in? Sometimes no matter how much we want to actively change a situation, we can’t. It could be because we’re just waiting for a certain date on the calendar to arrive, or we have done what we could and now we’re stuck waiting for the results, or maybe because of financial reasons. In these moments, we can turn to our body to give us information to help us co-exist with the discomfort of not being able to act. It doesn’t mean that this makes everything feel okay, but it does give us some power back when it all seems so unknown or uncertain.

In this Session, we discuss how we can work with our physiology when we can’t make big moves. There are so many things we cannot control but we can help our body shift. We're even providing examples of how we support the physical sensations of discomfort, the looping thoughts, and the need for our brain to still play an active role.

In this episode, we explore what it means to be “the strong one” the person who keeps it together, shows up for everyone else, and pushes through even when life feels unbearably heavy. We talk about the hidden exhaustion that comes from always being the reliable one and the fear that asking for help might make us look weak or incapable. We also get into the uncomfortable truth that sometimes, even when we finally reach out, we don’t actually know what we need we just know we can’t keep holding everything alone.

Together, we unpack the process of learning how to receive support and the importance of finding the right kind of support that feels safe and aligned. And most importantly, we challenge the belief that real strength only exists in self-sufficiency. Because strength is also allowing softness, resting without guilt, and letting ourselves be cared for while we’re still figuring it out. Even the strong deserve to be held.

AND there is a MEGA, darling, beautiful surprise coming at you from Ashley during this session so don't miss out!!

  • EP 72 : Ungrounded- Maybe we’re not meant to stand still right now
    Oct 12 2025

    Show Notes:

We’re living in an era where our nervous systems are constantly under pressure.

Between the relentless stream of bad news, the trauma inflicted by oppressive systems, and the demands of our personal lives, it’s no wonder that so many of us feel overwhelmed.
In this episode, Sara Cate + Ashley explore what it means to live with an activated nervous system in deeply ungrounded times. We often reach for regulation, to feel calm, steady, and in control, but what if that’s not always possible? What if the more compassionate response is to stop forcing calm and instead allow what is?

Together, we’ll talk about how to make space for frustration, agitation, and exhaustion, without judgment, and how to honor those states as part of being human. Regulation doesn’t mean staying in one perfect state; it means being able to move between states with awareness and care.
This episode is an invitation to soften the demand to “be okay” and instead practice being with ourselves gently, even when everything feels hard.
