The WNBA tables a new offer to the Union but will it be enough to entice the players to sign? It’ll be an unlikely all-east-coast NSWL final between upstarts Gotham FC and the Washington Spirit.

City council has approved the “Lansdowne 2.0” refurbishing project, which would see an over-2,000 seat capacity reduction in the Charges’ home arena, which the franchise argues will affect the long-term viability of the club in the nation’s capital. Canada drops the first two games of the Rivalry Series to the U.S. by a combined score of (gulp) 10-2. Should Canadians be concerned three months out from the Olympics? AFC Toronto takes on Vancouver Rise FC for the Diana B. Matheson Cup as the Northern Super League Final kicks off this weekend. Vancouver advanced by beating Ottawa Rapid FC on penalties, and Michaela has a controversial take regarding extra time in soccer. A massive upset in the NWSL playoffs as no.8 Gotham City took out the no.1 seeded Kansas City Current. The NWSL announces it’s adding a 17th franchise by expanding to Atlanta.

Angel City FC defender Elizabeth Eddy writes an op-ed urging the NWSL to ban transgender and intersex players from the league. Michaela and Vanessa explain why she’s wrong by driving truck-sized holes through her faulty and contradictory arguments. A’ja Wilson becomes the first player to win both regular season and Finals MVP awards in the same year after averaging 28 points per game in the playoffs – we’re witnessing greatness. Are the Aces a dynasty after winning three titles in four years? WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert is getting the Gary Bettman treatment – booed mercifully while trying to hand out hardware. A wild offseason lies ahead for the WNBA: two new teams are about to enter the league, 80% of the players are unrestricted free agents and a work stoppage is on the horizon. Lioness Millie Bright retires from the English national team. Christen Press also retires after a decorated NWSL and USNWT career. The 2026 IIHF World Championships will move from April to November.
