Welcome to Episode 12 of Season 4!
In this episode, we unpack a truth we’ve both lived over and over again: real, lasting change is rarely quick, and the pressure to deliver (or receive) instant transformation can actually get in the way of the deeper work.
We talk about the myth of the “insight machine,” the belief that coaches must produce rapid breakthroughs to prove their value, and how clients often feel pressured to change fast because of the investment they’ve made. Through stories from our own practices and lives, we explore why slow, embodied, integrated change is not only more sustainable, it’s more honest.
We also get real about the messy middle: the moments when things feel worse before they feel better, when grief rises, when old identities fall away, and when the growth you asked for doesn’t look anything like you expected. And we name the very human tendency to set rigid outer rules when what really needs tending is our inner landscape and self-trust.
If you’ve ever questioned whether you’re “doing enough,” or worried that your progress is too slow, this conversation will help you exhale. Your unfolding doesn’t need to be fast to be real.
