This week’s episode came together off the top, leaning into a more melodic sound. What began as an eclectic mixtape mini-series within the #new52mixshow has gradually evolved into a hub for newer electronic dance mixes.

Diego Druck’s remix of John Summit’s ‘Where You Are’ fits perfectly alongside the Solly’s Proper House vibe, bridging the worlds of groove and melody.

The set opens with a remix of ‘Taste’ by Tyga and ‘Money to Burn’ by Drake — both club staples from my Monday nights at Dancers Showclub — and closes with Armand Van Helden’s remix of ‘The Bomb’ by The Bucketheads, a timeless house classic sampled from Chicago’s ‘Street Player".

This month’s edition of Solly’s Proper House (usually a weekly stop) leans into deep, soulful grooves, with featured tracks from Jaemus and Rules.

Jaemus recently brought the energy to Flammable Sundays at Chop Suey in Seattle and just released a new single, ‘A Good Thing.’ You’ll also hear ‘Teardrops’ by Rules — a track I previously featured in my Annual Summer Sampler back in July.

I’m very intentional about my house selections, especially as I bounce between my Proper sets at The Patron Saint and my residency at Vice Seattle with Part Timers.

While curating this episode of The 765 Podcast, I was reminded of how fun it was discovering music in my early club days — digging through record stores and building a collection one track at a time. I was a huge DJ Clue fan back then, and you’ll hear several of the records he remixed woven into this week’s mix.

Most of the tracks come from the late ’90s and early 2000s — before I ever stepped behind the decks — but in many ways, these records shaped my passion for the craft. It’s wild to hear this era called ‘old school’ now, especially since it still sits at the heart of so many modern EDM remixes.

The 765 Podcast was created to showcase the music I played during my strip club era, delivered with the feel and pacing of a radio-style mixshow. While many of these tracks can be heard across different types of venues, The 765 Podcaststands on its own as a unique chapter of the #new52mixshow.

This series originally mirrored my DJ schedule at Dancers Showclub before the pandemic — The 765 Podcast on Saturdays, Sunday Vibes on Sundays, and Mixtape Monday on Mondays. In later years, Manila Underground and The Kat in the Trap were added to expand the sound and the story.

It’s been a minute since we’ve tapped into The Groove Directive, and with spring just a couple of months away, I brought some heat in this mix to keep things warm.

What started as Tech House Takeover in 2019 has evolved into a weekly series where I feature DJs and artists I know in the industry, spotlighting their tracks and the sound that’s shaping dance floors right now.

Gene Farris and Sonny Fodera kick things off with the GAWP remix of ‘We Work It,’ and midway through the set, we get into a fresh remix of ‘4sum’ by Uriah G & Gettoblaster.
