  • Bonus Episode – Notorious: Maine Crime in the Public Eye, 1690–1940
    Dec 6 2025

In this bonus episode, Tiffany Link, Collections Curator for the Maine Historical Society and co-curator of the exhibition “Notorious: Maine Crime in the Public Eye, 1690–1940” joins the show. Tiffany discusses how the exhibition was developed and why the cases were chosen. We explore how crime reporting evolved from broadsides to newspapers to early photojournalism, and how the public’s relationship with crime has changed, and in some ways stayed the same.

Tiffany also talks about the artifacts featured in the exhibition, the challenges of presenting historical crimes ethically, and why this exhibition resonates with today’s true crime audiences.

Notorious runs through the end of December at the Maine Historical Society in Portland, Maine. For more information, visit the Maine Historical Society website: https://www.mainehistory.org/all-exhibitions/notorious-maine-crime-in-the-public-eye/
