There are so many different versions of Monopoly these days, you'd think they'd have made one where well-known football shirts appeared on each of the property spaces on the board. Anyone? Oh, just us then.

Still, just imagine how great a Football Shirt Monopoly board would be, and spare a moment or two to consider which shirts would be on it. So many shirts to choose from, but so few spaces. Luckily, both you (our audience) and us have put our heads together to draw up a list of possible inclusions, and on this (part 1 of a two-parter), we're going to pick the shirts that will go onto the first half of our virtual board.

Another domestic season is underway, so who better than us to give you a preview of what to expect of the new kits you'll be seeing in the Premier League? 'But wait,' we hear you cry - 'I haven't got time to hear about all those kits... Can't you cut the waffle and tell me only what I need to know?' Why sure! We're the masters of the micro review, so once again we're on hand to give you our thoughts about each kit in three words AND haiku!

Yes, we'll be rattling through dozens of new kits with a slightly ignorant sense of dismissiveness, but you'll thank us later for that. Along the way, we discover Rich's other favourite team, have a lengthy moan about retro kits (especially the ones with unnecessary team badges) and generally wonder how Manchester United have been with Adidas for TEN years. Are we really that old now?

The 2024 Paris Olympics are almost upon us (at least at time of recording), so what better than to look back at some of the most interesting kits from Olympic soccer tournament history?

In this episode, Chris and Rich will be hand-picking some fine examples of kit design that deviated from the norm in the name of amateur excellence under those five interlocking rings. It's FA Cup Final week and we really should be getting excited about the greatest game in the English football calendar, but it's ANOTHER Manchester derby, so we're allowed not to be.

Far better, we think, to consider the FA Cup Finals of the past, and particularly the kits that were worn in them. That's why we've plumped for the 1990s - a decade that provides us with plenty to talk about where the Wembley showpiece is concerned.

So sit back, listen in and here what we've got to say about everything from Crystal Palace in Bukta stripes to Newcastle United in a kit that was ALMOST their best ever. As the years roll by, many football kits are forgotten about because they're just plain mediocre. Well not on this podcast! We're the sort of people that celebrate mediocrity because, you see, mediocrity doesn't necessarily mean 'terrible.' Usually it does, but not always...

We've reviewed the kits from many major tournaments and competitions down the years, but never the 1982 World Cup. In this episode, we aim to put that right as we pick out the best from FIFA's 12th quadrennial outing.

There's also a big stack of news featuring teams wanting to change their kit, change their logo and, in one particular case, change the concept of a singular fourth kit. It all gets a bit meta, but luckily there's always the subject of childhood toys to fall back on. And crisps.
