On this week's episode of The Drop, we were extremely lucky to get some time in with one of the busiest men in aesthetics, and a true advocator for a safer industry, Dr Lee Walker!

Dr Lee is an International Key Opinion Leader for Teoxane, director and clinical lead at the multi-award-winning B-City Clinics, based in Liverpool and has over 17 years' experience in the field of medical aesthetics. He also sits on the expert advisory board of 'Save Face', a UK professional standard registered body, responsible for setting industry safety recommendations.

We sat down to talk to Dr Walker all about his opinions on the current landscape of the aesthetics industry in the UK, and how he feels about the lack of regulations that we currently have in place. We also talk about what Dr Walker looks for in a product, to ensure the patients safety is at the forefront of all of his treatments, as well as what he thinks could be done to create a safer space for patients, to enable them to make well informed decisions around their aesthetic treatments.

Antonia talks us through her experience of working within the industry, helping and advising consumers with all things aesthetics. The Safety in Beauty Campaign is dedicated to raising awareness and empower consumers to make well informed and safe choices across all sectors of beauty and aesthetics

Welcome back to Season 3 of The Drop!

This week we had the amazing Dr Mahmoud and Dr Tom of Azthetics Clinic on to talk all about the rise is male and masculine aesthetics.

Dr Mahmoud and Dr Tom brought their experience of working with both female and male presenting patients and what they have seen over the past few years in terms of the increase of interest from male patients, as well as male presenting patients, and the kinds of treatment types that are in demand.

We also discuss some of the tabboo that still remains around men wanting to take control and own the way that they look and feel, through the likes of toxin, filler and other aesthetic treatments, and some of the things that we can do to continue educating about the possibilities, as well as acknowledging that men want to look and feel good too!

In this week's episode of The Drop, we have the opportunity to talk all things trending when it comes to dermal fillers, with the incredible Dr Elle Reid!

Dr Elle gives her expert opinion on how filler trends come to be and how much of this she sees in her clinic, Paragon Aesthetics, as well as one or two trends that she herself has tried in the past - and how she feels about it now!

We dig into some of the better known treatments to crop up on social media such as the Russian Lip trend and Facial balancing, and Elle talks us through the difference of a short lived trend vs newer treatment styles that have more possibility of sticking around and why this is.

She also talks about, as a practitioner, how easy it is to replciate some of these treatment trends across each individual patient type and if we should really be looking to try and copy and paste things we see on social media (the answer is no..!)

This week we were thrilled to invite onto The Drop, Aesthetic Doctor, Dr Johanna Ward from The Cosmetic Skin Clinic and Menopause Specialist Dr Anne Henderson, AKA “The Gynae Expert” to talk us through how the menopause impacts our skin health.

We discuss what goes on beneath the skin as we hit the perimenopause and menopause and how that then contributes to changes we see as we age such as changes in skin texture, loss of volume and pigmentation. Dr Johanna then talks us through some of the treatments that she offers in clinic for her menopausal patients and some of the most common concerns they are facing.
