Jesus, I enter your gates with thanksgiving. Today I am thankful for _______. I am hungry for your total peace and I want to release anger and not allow it to be rooted within me. I know that if I am walking in Your will, and I pray according to Your will, You hear me and grant my request. I ask, in Your Name, that You remove all anger from me and replace it with empathy, forgiveness, peace and radical love. I thank You for my anticipated transformation. Amen.

When I learned that 2 of my children stopped believing in Jesus, I was devastated. Even though we mourn the relationship when we become estranged, that is not the biggest blow when you’re estranged from a prodigal. The biggest blow is about their relationship with Jesus. As a Christian mother, your highest hope for your child is that they make it to Heaven. When faced with them turning from the Christian Faith, your heart breaks as you consider them being lost. It’s tempting to blow up at your prodigal, trying to push them back to a place of spiritual safety. But doing so can make things even worse.
