Fernando Mendoza wins the Heisman Trophy Award, and Texas safety Michael Taaffe wins the Wuerrfel Trophy for the college player who best combines exemplary community service and academics. The Dallas Cowboys lost to the Minnesota Vikings 34-26, two and a half games behind division leader Philadelphia Eagles, leaving a 1% chance of making the playoffs. The Kansas City Chiefs were eliminated from playoff contention after losing to the Los Angeles Chargers 16-13. Vanderbilt Quarterback Diego Pavia isn’t making himself look good after being named runner-up to the Heisman Trophy.
