À propos de cet audio

"The Made in America Hour" podcast is a show about all things made in America, whether it's an "idea" (i.e., invented in the USA), the development of a new product from an original idea, products manufactured in America or even products sold in America after being assembled in the USA. We'll also talk about the problems that American-made products have in overcoming the resistance that so many nations have to having American products compete with products in their own domestic markets. More: America's Inventor Lady, Rita Crompton, and HomeTalkUSA's Michael King share a powerful conviction: that supporting "Made in America" products and businesses is the key to sparking a national renaissance. They believe that by harnessing the purchasing power of American consumers, we can reinvest in our communities and workforce, thereby creating an economy that benefits everyone. This movement is not just about economic growth; it's also about bridging the political and social divides that separate us, forging a renewed sense of national unity. The "Made in America Hour" To bring this vision to life, Rita Crompton and Michael King have launched "The Made in America Hour." This new initiative includes a weekly, hour-long segment on Michael King’s HomeTalkUSA radio show, as well as a corresponding TV episode on Rita Crompton’s “Made in America TV” YouTube Channel, accessible at www.madeinamericaus.com (https://www.google.com/search?q=https://www.madeinamericaus.com)and a related podcast which appears here on the streaming platform Ausha, as well as 20 other streaming platforms, including the industry leaders such as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music and Pandora. The core purpose of all three shows is to highlight American-made products and inspire consumers to patronize the companies that manufacture them. The show is intended to be a dual-purpose platform, catering to both consumers and businesses. It shares the real-world stories of American entrepreneurs and their companies—showcasing their successes and the hurdles they've overcome—while also creating a networking hub for those committed to the "Made in America" movement. Meet the Hosts Rita Crompton and Michael King co-host "The Made in America Hour," and they are joined by a rotating cast of expert co-hosts. Among them is Greg Owens, who is known as "The Made in America Guy” and who is the co-founder and CEO of Sherrill Manufacturing and Liberty Tabletop (Liberty Tabletop is notably the only producer of flatware in the country). Another contributor is Zach Mottl, Chairman of the Coalition for a Prosperous America (CPA), a national non-profit organization dedicated to revitalizing the American economy for current and future generations. With the combined influence of Rita's and Michael's broadcast platform and the profound knowledge of their co-hosts, "The Made in America Hour" is poised to lead a renaissance that will benefit every American and, hopefully, help heal our national divisions. • Episode 20: Coaltion for a Prosperous America - Chairman's Countdown
    Nov 12 2025

This is The Chairman's Countdown with your host, Zach Model, Chairman of the Coalition for a Prosperous America. Countdown with us as we explore trade, tariffs, and industrial strategy with the leaders driving America's prosperity and security.

We've got Congressman Daniel Webster. And, uh, Congressman Webster joins us from Florida's 11th Congressional District. Uh, His district is home to a strong manufacturing community, and it spans right across Central Florida. Representative Webster has been a respected voice for Florida manufacturers, US workers, and he's a champion for economic resiliency. He serves on some key committees that advance infrastructure, manufacturing, and economic development priorities like those impact his district but also the nation. And here at the Coalition for a Prosperous America, we're so proud to partner with Congressman Webster and leaders like him to showcase how America can rebuild its industrial strength and make good jobs for everyday average Americans.

We want their wages rising faster than costs, and making things is the best way to do that. Congressman, thank you for being here. You know, there's a major manufacturer in your district, and I would be remiss if I didn't start with them. Uh, Nucor Steel, one of America's biggest steel mills, they've got a major presence in your district. Uh, they're driving investment in, and, and steel making and jobs in Florida. What do you see going on at that factory?

Well, I think the, the key is we're trying to maintain steel production in, in the United States. Uh, for too long, we, uh, kind of, uh, packaged up our, our jobs and sent them elsewhere, thinking we were doing everybody a, a favor. We were doing no one a favor. We were losing our jobs, losing our economy, losing the base that we had. And so, taking American jobs and shipping them overseas seemed to be a great thing at the time, but it was not. And so, we're trying to gain them back, keep them back, and then have a, have a, have a place for them to work.

Well, you're, you're reading my talking points, it feels like, Congressman, because that's exactly how I feel. They're great jobs for good Americans. And, you know, the data shows that. Chuck, what, you know, we've done some research on steel and, and the kind of high-wage jobs and investment that, that this kind of investment creates. What does the research show about these jobs and why are they so important like the Congressman is saying?

Yeah, that's right. I mean, they, they drive wages, uh, and they drive the cost, especially in steel, they drive the cost for everything else down, right? You know, people think, uh, if we on-shore, things are going to get more expensive, but that's just not the case. In fact, what we do is, well, by building up our domestic capacity, especially in things like steel and aluminum, uh, we're driving down the costs for all manufacturing because we get more capacity here, things being done at a higher volume more efficiently, and, uh, so, while we si- simultaneously strengthen our national security, we're also making manufacturing cheaper here.

  • Episode 19: The Long Journey Back from Manufacturing Oblivion
    Nov 1 2025

Zach Mottl, Chairman of the Coalition for a Prosperous America (CPA) discusses with his guests the consequences of the great flight of American manufacturing and American manufacturing jobs to China after China was admitted to the World Trade Organization (WTO) on December 11, 2001 and granted most "favored nation" trading status by the United States on December 27, 2001. They also address the long claw back that's been occurring over the past twenty-five years, culminating in the elections of Donald Trump in 2016 and then again in 2024, and his imposition of tariffs as measures to combat unfair trading practices. that have hurt the United States under the WTO and the resulting cheating that's occurred since China's admission.

His guests for this episode are Jon Toomey, President of the Coalition for a Prosperous America (CPA) and Congresswoman Erin Houchin, United States House of Representatives (IN-09)
