  • 2/28 Maryland Weather: Cloudy
    Feb 28 2026
Good morning. Maine. I'm DJ Huzz. Folks. February is going out with a bang. High pressure sliding off the Atlantic coast is pulling a river of warm air straight up from the south. We're talking one of the warmest February days in years. In the next 24 hours. Western Maryland takes the crown today. Garrett and Allegany counties climb to 62 degrees under sunshine. That's more mid-April than late winter. Down in Baltimore Metro, you hit 59. Central Maryland sits a touch cooler at 52, but still well above normal for this time of year. Tonight, reality knocks. A cold front from Canada slides in. No rain expected, but temperatures drop to the upper 30s and low 40s. Patchy fog may develop toward sunrise. Sunday brings the hangover. That front sags south and winds flip northerly. Highs only reach the upper 40s to around 50. A slight chance of rain early, then gusty northwest winds up to 22 miles an hour by afternoon. Sunday night turns genuinely cold with lows in the 20s statewide. Here's your heads-up for the week ahead. Monday stays chilly in the mid-30s. Tuesday brings our next weathermaker. A retreating warm front could deliver a wintry mix early, flipping to rain by afternoon. Wednesday through Friday features a warming trend with highs climbing back into the 60s, though rain chances linger. Enjoy this gift of a day. We're gaining over two minutes of daylight now. and the spring equinox is just 20 days away. Get outside if you can. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. • Rain Starting 11 AM | Maryland Weather
    Feb 26 2026
Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Maryland Weather Podcast — it's Thursday, February 26th. Step outside right now and you'll feel 37 degrees under that thick gray blanket. But don't get too comfortable. A quick system slides through midday with light rain statewide. Down in Baltimore Metro, you hit 44 degrees this afternoon. Rain shows up around 11 A.M. and clears out by 4 P.M. We're talking less than a tenth of an inch.. Barely enough to wet the pavement. Tonight, skies clear fast and you drop to 31 degrees. Central Maryland tops out at 42 degrees. Rain kicks in a bit earlier, around 10 A.M., peaking near noon. Tonight you settle at 31 under clearing skies. Western Maryland? You're the warm spot today at 45 degrees. Rain's possible between 11 A.M. and 3 P.M. But tonight you own the cold crown.. 27 degrees under mostly clear skies. Tomorrow flips the script completely. High pressure marches in with wall-to-wall sunshine. Baltimore climbs to 49 degrees. Central Maryland hits 46. Western Maryland reaches 51. Saturday is your reward. Baltimore touches 58 degrees. Central Maryland sees 54. Western Maryland peaks at 60 degrees. That's ten to fifteen degrees above normal for late February. But here's the catch. A cold front crashes the party Sunday. Then Monday brings the wild card.. A coastal low develops with snow potential across the state. Temperatures hover right at freezing, so we're not sure yet if it's snow, rain, or a sloppy mix. This one needs watching. We're gaining two and a half minutes of daylight every day now. Spring equinox is three weeks out. But winter might have one last punch before the bell rings. Keep the umbrella handy today. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
