  • 2/28 Nevada Weather: Rain
    Feb 28 2026
Good morning. Maine. I'm DJ Huzz. February is going out like a lion. If that lion decided to sunbathe instead of roar. A massive ridge of high pressure is parked over Nevada. and it's cranking up the heat like we skipped straight to spring break. In the next 24 hours. Southern Nevada? You're hitting 84 degrees this afternoon. That's shorts and sunglasses weather. Northern Nevada climbs to 69 — still plenty warm for late February. Even Eastern Nevada, waking up to a crisp 33 degrees this morning, shoots up to 59 by mid-afternoon. That's a 26-degree swing before lunch. The north gets a little twist today. A weak weather system is sneaking along the Oregon border, bringing a slight chance of showers to Northern Nevada between 7 A.M. and noon. We're talking light stuff — maybe a tenth of an inch if you see anything at all. Eastern Nevada gets a better shot at rain between 10 A.M. and 2 P.M., with about a coin flip on whether you'll need an umbrella. Snow levels stay way up at 8,000 feet, so this is all rain in the valleys. Tonight stays mild statewide. Southern Nevada drops to 58 degrees. Northern Nevada falls to 43. Eastern Nevada settles at 38, with that light rain lingering through 10 P.M. Before it finally clears out. Sunday cranks the heat even higher. Southern Nevada peaks at 86 degrees — we're talking record-flirting territory. Northern Nevada reaches 63 under mostly cloudy skies. Eastern Nevada climbs to 63 as well, but rain chances return after mid-morning with a 40 percent shot at light showers. Here's your heads-up for the week ahead. Monday flips the script. Cooler air moves in with widespread rain, especially in the north and east. Tuesday brings a brief break, then another storm system arrives Wednesday and Thursday. Snow levels drop to valley floors by Wednesday night, so the mountains could see real accumulation mid-week. Soak up this warmth while you've got it. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. Stay safe, stay prepared. and enjoy the day.

  • Clear Skies | Nevada Weather
    Feb 26 2026
Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Nevada Weather Podcast — it's Thursday, February 26th. Fifty-seven degrees at sunrise. That's not a typo. We're starting warm and climbing fast. High pressure from Baja California is parked overhead, pumping in air so warm it could challenge records set back in 1986. This isn't your typical late February day. Down in Las Vegas, you're hitting 83 degrees this afternoon. That's 28 degrees above normal. Northern Nevada around Reno climbs to 66. Even the eastern valleys warm to 58. Break out the sunglasses and the sunscreen. This is summer preview weather. Tonight stays mild. Las Vegas drops to 57. Reno settles near 39. Eastern valleys cool to 31. Friday keeps the heat rolling. Las Vegas reaches 84. Northern areas hit 68. Eastern valleys climb to 62. Light winds and clear skies make it perfect for getting outside. Saturday brings the warmest day of the stretch. Las Vegas could hit 87 degrees, potentially breaking that 1986 record. But A Pacific low pressure system arrives late Saturday, changing everything. Rain chances develop, especially in northern and eastern Nevada. Mountains could see snow showers above 7,500 feet. Sunday through Tuesday, that system parks over the state. Expect cooler temperatures and scattered showers. Las Vegas drops to the low 80s. Northern valleys fall to the upper 50s. Rain chances continue, particularly in the mountains. By Wednesday, another system could approach, but forecasters are still watching the timing. Spring equinox is three weeks away. And we're getting a preview. Today. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

    Feb 25 2026
Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Nevada Weather Podcast — it's Wednesday, February 25th. Step outside in Las Vegas right now and you're already at 54 degrees. But folks, we're just getting warmed up. A ridge is building over the Southwest. And it's about to turn the thermostat way up. Down in Southern Nevada, you're waking up to 54. By this afternoon? You'll hit 79 degrees. Clear skies all day, barely a breeze. Tonight drops to 56, then Thursday you climb to 83. Friday stays at 83. And Saturday? We're pushing 87 degrees. That's not just warm for late February — that's flirting with record territory. Up in Northern Nevada, it's a different morning. You've got mostly cloudy skies and 42 degrees. Rain showers are wrapping up through midday, then we clear out. High today reaches 62 with northwest winds gusting to 15 miles an hour around 7 A.M. Tonight you drop to 35. And it'll feel like 37 degrees around 7 A.M. Thursday with those winds still pushing through. Thursday climbs to 66, Friday hits 68. Over in Eastern Nevada, rain is still falling. You're at 41 degrees now. Showers continue through 10 A.M. with a 69 percent chance around 4 A.M. Winds gust to 20 miles an hour around noon. High today reaches 58, then you drop to 32 tonight. Thursday rebounds to 58, then Friday climbs to 62. The pattern this week? Unseasonably warm through Saturday, especially in the south. Sunday brings increasing clouds and rain chances, particularly up north after 10 A.M. Monday keeps that rain going with highs in the upper 50s to mid 70s. Tuesday clears out with sunshine returning statewide. If you've been putting off that car wash, today's your day. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
