    Feb 28 2026
Good morning. Maine. I'm DJ Huzz. Sixty degrees at sunrise. In February. Let that sink in. In the next 24 hours., A warm air pump is running full blast today, pulling Gulf moisture straight north ahead of a surface trough. That's why you woke up to 60 and why you'll hit 80 by this afternoon. Southwest Oklahoma wins the heat contest — 84 near Lawton. Oklahoma City and Tulsa both touch 80. This is the kind of warmth that fools your daffodils into blooming two weeks early. But here's the twist. A cold front is slouching south from Kansas right now. and it crashes the party late today. Scattered storms fire up as the front slides through. Central Oklahoma sees the action between 6 and 8 P.M. Northeast gets hit earlier — noon to 5 P.M. Southwest stays mostly dry. Tonight, that front yanks temperatures back to reality. You'll drop to the low 50s statewide. Sunday gets weird. The front stalls right across the middle of the state, splitting us in half. North of the front? Stuck in the 60s with rain. South of it? Back to the upper 70s with storm chances. Where that front parks determines your day. and it's still wobbling on the models. Monday dries out briefly — partly cloudy, mid 60s. Then buckle up. Tuesday through Friday brings an active pattern. Multiple rounds of storms roll through, some potentially severe Tuesday and Wednesday. Southeast Oklahoma could see over an inch of rain. Temperatures stay warm, mostly 70s. In Spring equinox is two weeks out. Sunrise at 7, 03 this morning, sunset at 6:25 tonight. Enjoy the February heat while it lasts. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. Stay safe, stay prepared. and enjoy the day.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Oklahoma Weather Podcast — it's Thursday, February 26th. Forty-nine degrees right now. Clear skies. And by this afternoon? Mid-70s statewide. That's a 38 degrees-degree jump in a single day. Central Oklahoma climbs to 73 degrees this afternoon. Sunny skies and a light north breeze at 6 to 10 miles an hour. Tonight drops to 46 under mostly clear skies. Northeast Oklahoma hits 72 today. Light winds make it feel even milder. Tonight's low settles at 44. Southwest Oklahoma takes the crown. You're looking at 76 degrees this afternoon with gusts up to 20 miles an hour. Tonight holds at 45. Friday keeps the heat rolling. Highs reach 76 in central Oklahoma, 79 in the northeast. And 78 in the southwest. More sun. More spring vibes. Saturday is the peak. We're talking 82 to 84 degrees across the state. That's near-record territory for late February.. And about 38 degrees above normal. But here's the catch. A cold front arrives Saturday night. Showers and thunderstorms become likely, especially in central and eastern Oklahoma. Sunday cools back into the 60s with rain chances continuing. Next week brings a real pattern shift. Multiple rounds of rain and storms are possible Tuesday into Wednesday. Temperatures return closer to seasonal norms. We're gaining over two minutes of daylight each day now. Sunrise this morning was at 7:05. Sunset tonight comes at 6:23. Spring equinox is just three weeks away. Today's the day to get outside. Take a walk at lunch. Open the windows tonight. This kind of February warmth doesn't stick around. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Oklahoma Weather Podcast — it's Wednesday, February 25th. Fifty degrees right now. That's not a typo. And it's not even close to done climbing. We're about to flip winter the bird. Highs today hit the mid to upper 70s — that's 42 degrees warmer than normal for late February. Spring equinox is still three weeks out, but the weather clearly didn't get the memo. Central Oklahoma starts you at 47 degrees around 8 A.M. By 5 P.M., you're sitting at 76. Winds flip from east-northeast to north-northeast around 7 A.M., staying light all day. Mostly sunny skies overhead. Southwest Oklahoma wakes up at 45 degrees around 7 A.M. You peak at 78 degrees by 3 P.M. — the warmest spot in the state. Winds shift from east-southeast to north-northeast around 6 A.M. Northeast Oklahoma sits at 49 degrees around 6 A.M. You climb to 75 degrees by 4 P.M. Winds stay gentle, shifting from east to southeast around 5 P.M. Tonight, lows settle in the upper 40s under partly cloudy skies. Thursday keeps the party going — sunny with highs in the low to mid 70s. Your week ahead looks wild. Temperatures keep climbing through Saturday. We're talking highs near 80 degrees in some spots. The last day of February will feel like April. But a cold front crashes the party Saturday night. Rain chances return Sunday and stick around into early next week. Temperatures cool back down behind that front. Sunrise this morning hit at 7:06. Sunset's at 6:22. We're gaining over two minutes of daylight each day now. Between that and today's warmth, winter's officially on life support. Crack a window. Take a walk at lunch. This is the good stuff. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
