Tonight, I’m joined by Hugh Bernard, the creator of Haunted New Forest, and someone who knows the New Forest in a way most of us never will - not just the footpaths and ancient trees, but the stories, secrets, and shadows woven through them.

Hugh’s lifelong fascination with local history and the unexplained began in his teens, and with deep family roots in the region, he’s spent nearly a decade living among the Forest’s villages and absorbing the landscape - not just how it looks, but how it remembers.

His work sits at that perfect intersection of history, folklore, and the paranormal. He approaches investigations with curiosity, respect, and a genuine interest in the human stories behind the experiences. For Hugh, it’s not simply about chasing the supernatural, it’s about understanding the fears, beliefs, and imaginations that shaped these tales in the first place.

It's Halloween, so tonight's episode is a little different in terms of format: I'm joined by my good friend George (a fellow paranormal enthusiast) to discuss the branches of the phenomena that first captured our imaginations and the cases that keep us hooked to this day.

We sat down across a table with the intention of discussing UFOs and aliens specifically but, as you’ll hear in tonight’s episode, we didn’t quite make it that far! In fact, we ended up talking about almost everything paranormal except UFOs!

Don’t worry though, there will be a Part 2 companion piece episode at the end of the year that focuses specifically on aliens, UFOs and several famous cases.
