While it commends several biblical characters for their faith in God and calls them “a great cloud of witnesses” (Hebrews 12:1), a majority are individuals with less than stellar track records. We meet men and women who did some exemplary things by faith, even if their lives, like ours, were inconsistent in other areas. They persevered in their faith through tough times of trials and testing, difficulties, and decision. Their stories still have much to teach us if we will learn.
