    Welcome to Season 1, Episode 1 of the Sam Hossack Media (SHM) Podcast — and we’re kicking things off in a BIG way.

    In this debut episode, host Sam Hossack is joined by one of the most respected voices in Canadian sports broadcasting, James Duthie. Known as the longtime host of TSN’s hockey coverage, Duthie has been a staple of Canadian sports media for decades, anchoring some of the biggest events in the world of sport including the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship, CFL Grey Cup, Super Bowl, and The Masters Tournament.

    Throughout this episode, James shares insights from his remarkable career behind the scenes at TSN, stories from covering hockey’s biggest moments, and his perspective on the evolving landscape of sports media. From national broadcasts to iconic hockey coverage, this conversation offers a rare look into the life and career of one of Canada’s most accomplished sportscasters.

    James Duthie is an eight-time Canadian Screen Award winner, earning multiple honours for Best Sports Host and Best Sports Feature Segment, including recognition for TSN’s Free Agent Frenzy, TradeCentre, and his powerful feature “The Butterfly Child.” He was also recognized for his work during the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, co-hosting alongside Lisa Laflamme. In 2009, he received the Excellence in Sports Broadcasting Award from Sports Media Canada, further cementing his impact on the industry.
