  • 2/28 Wisconsin Weather: Winter Weather Advisory
    Feb 28 2026
Good morning. Maine. I'm DJ Huzz. That gray ceiling overhead? That's arctic air settling in after a cold front blasted through overnight. and it brought company — a narrow ribbon of snow tracking east from the Dakotas. Think of it like a conveyor belt, maybe two counties wide. If you're under it, you'll see accumulation. If you're not, just flurries. In the next 24 hours. South Central Wisconsin gets the first taste around 9 A.M. Snow peaks near noon, dropping 1 to 3 inches of the fluffy stuff. Southeast Wisconsin starts closer to noon with 1 to 2 inches through this evening. Northeast Wisconsin, you're on the edge. Just a chance of light snow after 1 P.M. With less than half an inch. The snow tapers off tonight. Then the cold really digs in. Northeast Wisconsin bottoms out at 9 degrees. South Central drops to 13. Southeast holds around 19. Wind chills dip below zero in spots. Sunday flips the script. Arctic high pressure means wall-to-wall sunshine. Highs reach the upper 20s with calm winds. Perfect for clearing that driveway. The week ahead brings relief. Monday warms to near 40 degrees. Tuesday brings rain and snow mixed. By Thursday, we hit the low 50s. That's a 20-degree jump from today. We're gaining nearly 3 minutes of daylight each day now. Spring arrives in 20 days. For the snow and the freeze tonight. Tomorrow's sunshine will feel earned. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. Stay safe, stay prepared. and enjoy the day.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Wisconsin Weather Podcast — it's Thursday, February 26th. That cold snap you felt overnight? Real deal. We bottomed out at 16 degrees statewide, but winter's grip is loosening fast. Down in Southeast Wisconsin, you're starting at 18 degrees. By mid-afternoon you'll hit 40 under mostly sunny skies. Light southwest winds around 5 to 10 miles an hour. Tonight dips to 31 with partly cloudy skies. Madison and South Central Wisconsin begin at 16 degrees. You'll climb to 42 this afternoon with partly sunny conditions. Southwest winds stay gentle. Tonight settles near 29. Up in Northeast Wisconsin, you've got the coldest morning at 10 degrees. You'll reach 34 by afternoon with partly sunny skies. There's a slight chance of snow showers around midday, but nothing to write home about. Tonight drops to 27. Now here's where it gets wild. Friday brings a temperature surge that'll make you forget it's still February. Southeast and South Central Wisconsin both hit 56 degrees. Northeast Wisconsin reaches 48. Southwest winds gust to 30 miles an hour, pushing that warm air north like a freight train. But don't get too comfortable. A cold front crashes the party Friday night, dropping us back to the 20s. Saturday brings snow, especially along I-94 southward. South Central Wisconsin could see 1 to 3 inches. Saturday night turns brutal.. 15 degrees in Southeast Wisconsin, 11 in South Central, just 8 up north. Sunday stays chilly with highs in the upper 20s. Early next week we gradually warm back into the 30s and 40s. Enjoy that Friday warmup while it lasts. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
