(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus The Iranian protests are putting Christians at greater risk The Islamic Republic of Iran is hostile to protestors and Christians alike. Lana Silk of the Christian organization Transform Iran said, “Police are indiscriminately shooting into the crowds. The people try to fight back, but they are unarmed and almost entirely defenseless.” She is certain that more than 12,000 Iranians have been killed, and quite possibly 30,000 or more, reports International Christian Concern. She said, “The streets are now being patrolled by tanks and aggressive armed security forces. People are being rounded up, beaten, imprisoned, and killed. Men, women, and children, it doesn’t matter.” Anyone who dares to go outside is in danger. Though Iran’s Islamic regime, where 95% of the population is Muslim, treats almost none of its people well, it tends to be especially ruthless with its Christian minority. Iran is currently ranked as the 10th-most oppressive country for Christians. The Iranian government makes no secret about its attitude toward Christianity. Such worship in the country’s main language -- Persian, also known as Farsi -- is essentially outlawed, as is any Christian literature written in that language. Matthew 5:10 says, “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven.” Vice President Vance announces expansion of Mexico City Policy Appearing at the annual March for Life in Washington, D.C. on Friday, Vice President J.D. Vance spoke up for life, reports LifeNews.com. VANCE: “With the Dobbs decision, what the President did, what the Supreme Court did, was put a definitive end to the tyranny of judicial rule on the question of human life. He shattered a 50-year culture of disposability, one that treated human life as expendable the moment that it became inconvenient. And he empowered our nation and our movement to build a culture of life from the grassroots up.” Vice President Vance outlined some of the Trump administration’s pro-life accomplishments. VANCE: “We started by undoing the evils we saw under the previous administration, like, for example, throwing priests and grandmothers in prison for praying outside a[n abortion] clinic. That's over; we stopped it. (cheers) “Where the previous administration mandated taxpayer funding for abortions, including travel costs across the entire government, this administration ended it. (cheers) We have expanded conscience protections for health care workers and defended faith based foster care and adoption. “This administration launched fraud investigations into Planned Parenthood affiliates (cheers) for millions of dollars in [Paycheck Protection Program] loans that were unlawfully received and unlawfully forgiven by the Biden administration. You should not be able to commit fraud and use taxpayer money for abortion. It's that simple! (cheers) “At many of our departments, we've reinstated a ban on the use of fetal tissue in federal research. That's another big one, and this is something we're so proud of. We're returning accountability to our foreign policy as well. “Under Joe Biden, it was the policy of the United States to export abortion and radical gender ideology all around the world. That is what they did with your tax money. (boos) They would relentlessly bully developing countries into parroting their far left views. But under President Trump's leadership, and with our great Secretary of State, we believe that every country in the world has the duty to protect life.” And Vice President Vance cited an expansion of the pro-life Mexico City policy. VANCE: “Today, our administration is proud to announce a historic expansion of the Mexico City policy. We're going to start blocking every international [non-governmental organization] that performs or promotes abortion abroad from receiving $1 of U.S. money. (cheers) We're expanding this policy to protect life, to combat DEI, and the radical gender ideologies that prey on our children. “The rule will now cover every non-military foreign assistance that America sends. All in all, we have expanded the Mexico City policy about three times as big as it was before. And we're proud of it because we believe in fighting for life.” Proverbs 31:8 says, “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.” ICE shot and killed man in Minneapolis Federal agents shot and killed a 37-year-old man in Minneapolis on Saturday morning, less than three weeks after an ICE agent fatally shot Renee Good, amid an ongoing surge in immigration enforcement action across the city, reports CBS News. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Iran makes large sums of money off the backs of persecuted Christians Iran has an open secret. Persecuting Christians is a booming business in the Muslim-majority nation, and the country is earning large sums of money from arresting Christ followers, reports International Christian Concern. Fines and bail amounts imposed by Iranian courts have reached hundreds of thousands of dollars in recent years, financially crippling poor Christian families trying to keep their loved ones out of prison. For years, the Middle Eastern nation has targeted Christians for their faith in Christ through intimidation, physical abuse, and imprisonment. But what’s often overlooked are the exorbitant bail amounts doled out to Christ followers simply to keep themselves out of jail. Joseph Shahbazian, leader of a Christian house church, was arrested in June 2020 for his Christian activities and given a bail amount of $163,000. After pleading with the court and handing over the deeds to his and his mother’s apartments, the court accepted $109,000 on Shahbazian’s behalf. Proverbs 22:22-23 says, "Do not rob the poor because he is poor, nor oppress the afflicted at the gate; For the LORD will plead their cause, and plunder the soul of those who plunder them." Shahbazian was released from prison in 2023 after serving a little more than a year in jail, but was rearrested in 2025 for his continued Christian activities and sentenced to an additional 10 years in jail. According to Open Doors, Iran is the sixth most difficult country worldwide for Christians. Trump ends all tax-funded research with aborted baby parts On January 22nd, the 53rd anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision, President Donald Trump ended federal funding for research involving the use of aborted baby parts. It’s a major victory for pro-life advocates that halts taxpayer support for such studies effective immediately, reports The Daily Wire. The National Institutes of Health announced the policy change on Thursday. The move prohibits the use of funds for research involving aborted baby parts obtained from elective abortions, while allowing ethical fetal tissue from sources such as miscarriages when donors consent. NIH Director Jay Bhattacharya said, “Someone who has had a miscarriage and wants to do a meaningful thing and they donate the tissue from the miscarriage to science, that’s still allowed. The only ban is on, you have an abortion specifically to terminate the baby, and then the tissue then gets sold, that’s what’s being banned,” something he described as “morally abhorrent.” Rescue Resurrection protesters plead with Trump to ban abortion pill People from as far away as California and Georgia came to the nation’s capital Thursday morning to plead with the Trump administration to ban the abortion kill pill, which is now easily available by mail and has led to a shocking increase of abortions following the Supreme Court’s overturn of Roe v. Wade, reports LifeSiteNews.com. In the shadow of the U.S. Capitol dome, 20 people with Rescue Resurrection were arrested by United States Capitol Police outside the Health and Human Services headquarters as they sat down in the middle of the street. They were singing. RESCUE RESURRECTION: “Help us tell the nation we want a pro-life revolution. Help us tell the nation we want a pro-life revolution” POLICEMAN: “Everyone is now under arrest. You will be placed in handcuffs.” RESCUE RESURRECTION: “Ban the abortion pill!” POLICEMAN: “If you don’t plan on being arrested, leave the street. If you don’t plan on being arrested, you need to go onto the sidewalk.” Some of the members of Rescue Resurrection had been incarcerated under the F.A.C.E. Act by the Biden Justice Department and then pardoned by President Donald Trump. Elderly pro-life icon Joan Andrews Bell was kneeling before a group of police carried her off of the street and cuffed her. Emily Berning, president of Let Them Live, said, “The chemical abortion pill has become the chemical coat hanger, and the bathroom has become the new back alley. The abortion pill is twenty-two times more dangerous than the FDA told the American people. Earlier this month, Harvest Chinese Christian Church in Los Angeles held an event called “Fasting Prayer Meeting for Persecuted Churches in China.” The event comes shortly after Chinese authorities detained the leaders of Early Rain Covenant Church. The congregation, like many “unregistered” churches in China, faces relentless persecution. International Christian Concern commented, “Please pray for these house church members in China, especially those who have been imprisoned or are missing after the police raids.” 1 Corinthians 12:26 says, “If one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.” China’s birth rate plunged to a record low in 2025 Speaking of China, the country’s birth rates plunged to a record low in 2025. New data from China’s National Bureau of Statistics found there were 7.92 million births last year, down 17% from 2024. The birth rate in 2025 was 5.63 per 1,000 people. Meanwhile, the death rate rose to 8.04 per 1,000 people. Despite China’s recent attempts to incentivize families to have children, the population has now fallen for the fourth consecutive year. In Genesis 1:28, God commanded, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the Earth and subdue it.” British Christian nurse vindicated for calling a man “Mister” In the United Kingdom, a National Health Service hospital recently dropped its case against a Christian nurse. Jennifer Melle worked at St. Helier Hospital in south London. She faced suspension after referring to a man, pretending to be a woman, as “Mister.” Listen to comments she made after her vindication. MELLE: “I am deeply relieved and grateful to hear that St Helier [Hospital] has confirmed it would no longer take further action against me. This has been an incredibly long and painful journey. “Today, I want to give thanks, first and foremost, to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who has sustained me every step of the way.” Young Canadians are planning to vote conservative Young adults in Canada are planning to vote conservative in the country’s next election. A survey by Abacus Data found 50% of Canadians aged 18 to 29 would vote for the Conservative Party. Only 27% of that demographic would vote for the Liberal Party. The strongest support for the Liberals comes from people over 60. A decade of liberal polices has led to higher living costs, higher inflation, and higher taxes. Trump: “I will not use force” to get Greenland Yesterday, U.S. President Donald Trump addressed the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland. Notably, he announced that the United States would not use force to acquire Greenland. TRUMP: “We probably won't get anything unless I decide to use excessive strength and force, where we would be, frankly, unstoppable. But I won't do that. Okay. Now everyone's saying, ‘Oh, good!’ “That's probably the biggest statement I’ve made because people thought I would use force. I don't have to use force. I don't want to use force. I won't use force.” President Trump also announced he will not be imposing tariffs on Denmark over the acquisition of Greenland. He wrote on Truth Social, “We have formed the framework of a future deal with respect to Greenland and, in fact, the entire Arctic Region.” Arrests coming for Minneapolis leftists who invaded church service The Trump administration is investigating anti-ICE protesters who disrupted a house of worship in Minneapolis on Sunday. Kristi Noem, the Department of Homeland Security Secretary, wrote on X, “Arrests coming. … The First Amendment protects speech and peaceful assembly – not rioting. … These agitators will be held accountable.” The Department of Justice is also investigating the incident at Cities Church. Major snowstorm hits East Coast to Rocky Mountains The National Weather Service is expecting a significant winter storm to hit a large portion of the U.S. starting Friday. Heavy snow, sleet, and freezing rain is forecast all the way from the southern Rockies to the East Coast. Much of the U.S. is already experiencing dangerously cold weather. Over 40 million people were under cold weather alerts as of Tuesday. Even parts of Florida are under alert. 463rd anniversary of Heidelberg Catechism And finally, this week marks the 463rd anniversary of the Heidelberg Catechism.
