This one word triggers fear, and shame, and calls for the immediate "clutching of pearls." This word when it comes to women has been frowned upon and many a nefarious attempt has been made to control it and some cultures even forbid it.

    What's the word?

    Pleasure.

Women experiencing pleasure makes people, even other women highly uncomfortable.

In this episode, former This Woman Knows blog contributor, Cordelia Gaffar and I reconnect and discuss her transformation and new ventures.

And yes, it has to do with women's pleasure.

You have every right to experience such!

Get your pearls ready, it's a great show.

  • 023. Understanding The Pause In Perimenopause With Kim Bady
    May 16 2024

It’s a phenomenon most women will experience and is unfortunately often the fodder of many jokes, TV skits, and movies.

But what’s very real and poorly researched are the changes women of a certain age endure as they enter their “second puberty” as guest Kim Bady calls it.

Perimenopause or “the change” as it’s often called is no laughing matter. Especially for Black women who not only have exasperated symptoms during postpartum, but also on the other end of the hormonal cycle.

Kim Bady, yoga instructor, and SheWellness Coach, and I have a heart-to-heart conversation on how this metamorphosis has impacted us personally and what other women need to know.
