This is precisely the question asked and answered in this latest special from the mind of Brendan Rorrison, as the boys pitch projects in a round-robin format, drawing upon games of all genres to sell their ideas. From cross-country rallies to good old-fashioned touring car racing and cars that grind, the results are all over the map, with a few surprising similarities.

Our first episode back from our 2025 hiatus explores Nintendo's classic arcade racing series all about boosting and big air. What else could you really say links 1984's Excitebike with its N64 sequel, Excite Truck, and especially Excite Bots on the Wii? In any case, they all certainly bring the excitement, and we'll proudly throw this one on the pile of forgotten racing franchises that Nintendo ought to revisit. Probably not before a proper, new mainline F-Zero and Wave Race, though.
