  • Truth Wanted 08.48 with ObjectivelyDan and @CoachRenz33
    Dec 6 2025
In today’s episode of Truth Wanted, Objectively Dan and Coach Renz explore Schrodinger’s callers. Can the callers exist and not exist at the same time?

Michelle in NY, proposes a version of Schrodinger's cat that replaces the with god’s existence where god exists in life and death at the same time. The cat can be verified to be in the box, dead or alive, yet we can’t even verify if god exists or not. If our morality has grown from the time of man’s creation of god to now, how does that change the monstrous nature of god described in the Bible? If we can’t answer the question of whether god exists or not, there is no point in answering god’s troll bridge riddles to determine our eternal fate, and therefore remaining agnostic is the default. Michelle has some fun points that are well suited for theatrical creative writing!

Jon in Canada asks for Kelley Laughlin to join for Jon’s last call. Jon feels he has said what he needed to say in past shows and this will be his final call because he still does not believe in woke stuff, but wishes the hosts well. Kelley wishes Jon to have a good life, wants him to continue questioning everything, and tells Jon he is a smart guy capable of making better decisions. Dan reminds Jon of how he has reflected a genuine change of mind on things that are more that can be said than most of the people who call in. Kelley and Jon agree they have had some good conversations over the years. Walking away from Christianity is a massive change in your life and can sometimes turn things upside down. We hope you call again when you have had time to process.

Dr. Girlfriend in TX proposes that just one hour of research on the most famous of the paranormal stories, will cause them all to fall apart. Be careful of being too skeptical because you will become part of the conspiracy! The topic of the Bermuda Triangle came up and Coach Renz mentions how he feared it as an adult to illustrate real world consequences of paranormal beliefs. Don’t let fiction and imagination morph into conspiracy theories!

Kelly in the Pacific Northwest is a theist that is currently deconstructing. She has recently been concerned about what happens the next time something happens that is devastating if there is no god that is interactive with us, and is overwhelmed by what comes next. Dan mentions that when realizing you have to put your life together, it can be an isolating thing and how important help from other people can be. Renz adds that every time you are knocked down, you have made the decision to get back up. Remember to always fight for yourself and learn from your hardships. Kelly, thank you for the call; this is the best conversation many of us have had all week.

Thank you for joining us this week! Kelley Laughlin, our back up host, closes out the show and reminds us to think of what kind of ornament to hang if we want to start an argument. See you next week!

  • Truth Wanted 08.48 Thankful For Our Haters with ObjectivelyDan, Jon The Skeptick, and Kelley Laughlin
    Nov 29 2025
Welcome to our Thankful For Our Haters 2025 Thanksgiving Special. While we give the hosts and the crew some much deserved time off to spend with friends and family, we wanted you to have something to enjoy your holiday meal with.

This year, because we were so outstanding, there weren't many hateful comments about us individually, so we decided to branch out and find out some of the hatful comments that were out there in general. Some of these you are undoubtedly familiar with, but we're hoping some of these will catch you by surprise. So enjoy!

  • Truth Wanted 08.45 11-07-2025 with ObjectivelyDan and Justin Frechette
    Nov 8 2025
In today’s episode of Truth Wanted, Objectively Dan and Justin Frechette work through questions of rationality before digging deep into the ethics of Jesus and his tantrums.

Michelle in NY asks the hosts about Carl Marx’s perception of religion being the opium of the masses. Dan comments that it may have been that religion was a way to quail the working class. Justin makes the parallel between opiates being addicting and the difficulties of leaving religion. The caller then asks a second question: Can we believe things rationally even though they may be unfalsifiable? Dan explains that exploring whether we can know things by reason alone will shed light on the answer to the question. Justin mentions that the awareness of something being unfalsifiable is a start for many people.

Maykel in the Netherlands, answers affirmatively to the poll question of Jesus being good, and uses scripture to back up his belief. We can’t find a single reason why doing things like creating food for the masses was not good, however, why did Jesus not do that all the time? There are weaknesses in the idea that Jesus was the universal good. For example, why did he not correct all the horrible practices commanded in the Old Testament? How is Jesus superior to other people who have proposed ethical ways of living? He did some things that were questionable like throwing a tantrum and whipping a bunch of people. And cursing that fig tree was beyond uncool because the tree was just being a tree and figs were not even in season. When Jesus has a bad day, it is not fun to be on the other end of him losing his temper. Jesus was not the first to have the Son of God claim, and he certainly won’t be the last. Dig deeper into your Bible and read all the stories to fully understand and form an opinion on the atrocities. What conditions would have to be met for something in the Bible to not be true? How many things in the Bible can not be true before we discount the entire Bible?

Jon in Canada, asks if Jesus would be a socialist. Jesus had a lot of progressive ideas, but we can’t really say that he was a socialist because he did what he wanted and he, unfortunately, would have been a Christian Nationalist.

Thank you for tuning in this week! Kelley Laughlin, our back up host joins us to close out the show and remind us of the question of the week: If you would re-write the Bible, what would it say? See you all next week and remember to always keep wanting the truth.

  • Truth Wanted 08.43 with Kelley Laughlin and Flabbergasted
    Oct 25 2025
In today’s episode of Truth Wanted, Kelley Laughlin and Flabbergasted look for a baby in the bathwater where the air around them is still not proving that god exists. Jon in Canada, asks what Kelley’s religious background was and Kelley described how he stopped going to church around age 13 because the belief just did not make sense. Jon mentions a famous quote of not throwing the baby out with the bathwater. If there was a baby in the bathwater, what would it look like? The bathwater often drowns people into submitting to the belief of the baby being there, when there is no baby at all. Georgi in Bulgaria, has a belief that we are eternal beings because we want meaningful experiences. How is something true once we imagine it or just because we want it? Why don’t we remember our past lives? We can imagine all kinds of things, but how do we know when they are true? Show us the work and prove how wanting something makes it true. How do we find the value in our experiences if we have an infinite number of experiences? It is important to care about whether your beliefs are true or not. Sarah in Indonesia describes god as air is to the sound of music and that god is within everything that exists. Music is air’s reaction to a physical thing; music is not made out of air. We are experiencing everything around us right now and don’t experience god. What is missing from the experience? How would a quantum physicist approach this concept? Why should we even call this thing god and what purpose does this god serve? Thank you for joining us this week! Damien H, our back up and third host of the show states the question of the week: If you were invisible in a church service, what would you do? See you all next week on Halloween!
