In general, the traveling public has no idea that some airline pilots are actually armed and licensed-t0-kill anyone invading the cockpit with the intention to do harm. The Federal Flight Deck Officer (FFDO) program was instituted after the tragic incidents on September 11, 2001. Since then, thousands of pilots like Dr. Paul, were authorized to use deadly force on airborne “evil-doers” if the situation called for it.
