  • Philosopher kings, government regulations, and the progressive movement - Dr. Vaughan
    Jan 21 2025

In this episode, I sit down with Geoffrey Vaughan, Ph.D., Professor of Political Science at Assumption University, to discuss the intersection of political philosophy, government regulations, and the historical development of the progressive movement. Dr. Vaughan brings a wealth of knowledge to the conversation, drawing from his extensive background in political theory, philosophy, and higher education.

We explore topics in relation to Plato's philosopher king concept . With references to influential thinkers and historical contexts, this episode offers thought-provoking insights into the challenges and possibilities of leadership, education, and civic responsibility.

Dr. Vaughan’s scholarly expertise includes publications like Behemoth Teaches Leviathan: Thomas Hobbes on Political Education and Leo Strauss and His Catholic Readers. He has also written extensively on religion, politics, and the cultural landscape of higher education.

  • Existence is a Gift
    Sep 7 2024

Our guest this week is Professor Rachel Coleman. She holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and biology from Desales University. She went on to earn her master’s in theological studies with a concentration in biotechnology from the John Paul II Institute at the Catholic University of America. Continuing her academic journey, she also received her Ph.D. in theology from the same institution. Professor Coleman has been a mentor for me throughout my years as a student at Assumption University, and I’m grateful for the role she has played in my education. In this episode, we dialogue about a lecture she gave at the Zephyr Institute. Find the lecture here: https://youtu.be/2Xr30ka8ZHU?feature=shared

    Thank you, Professor Coleman.

    May 6 2024

I interviewed Professor Senecal in 2023 at the conclusion of the fall semester. Gary Senecal received his Ph.D. in psychology from the University of West Georgia in 2015 and has served as a professor at Assumption University since 2014. During this time, he has taught courses ranging from Psychiatric Rehabilitation, Human Disability Across the Lifespan, Client Assessment, Military Psychology – the Social Reintegration of Veterans, and Sports Psychology. He has been a member of the Army Reserves since 2013. This was my favorite interview so far. What a dude. I hope you all enjoy. Thank you for the support.
