In Parashat Vayigash Yaakov Avinu finds out that Yosef is not only alive, but is the viceroy of Egypt. Although Yaakov decides to take everyone to Egypt, we see that this only after getting HaShem's assurance that they will protected. From what? Reading into the holy lines of the Torah we learn that this was not a fear of losing physical life, but spiritual.
Through this we will learn some of the impacts of assimilation that people do not often consider, when thinking about their own Jewish life. Are we assimilated?
