    The Ontario Warriors improved their record to an impressive 12-1 on Saturday with a 68-38 win at home over Madison (3-7). Ontario got 32 points from Cardae Brown, which was 1 off his career high of 33 earlier this season. Cardae scored 8 points in the 1st quarter, 10 more in the 2nd and 14 in the 3rd quarter. He did not play much in the final period. Trey Remy had 15 points, Trindon Flenoury added 12 for Ontario, which led by as many as 32 in the 2nd half. Madison's Kaleb Gordon led the Rams with 14 points, while Justin McCraney chipped in 8. Madison entering the game had won 2 in a row and 3 of their last 4. Ontario bounced back after suffering their 1st loss of the year on Friday to River Valley in a close game in the MOAC.

  • WMAN - High School Boys Basketball - January 9th, 2026 - Dover at Mansfield Senior

    Mansfield Senior won their 4th game in a row on Friday, as they beat Dover, 62-55, at Pete Henry gym. Senior High got a great defensive performance with 17 steals as a team, including 5 from Andrew Brooks, as they scored 18 points off turnovers in handing Dover their 1st loss in the Ohio Cardinal Conference. The TYgers outscored the Tornadoes 23-9 in the 2nd quarter to open up a 33-17 lead at halftime. Mansfield Senior had a 18-2 run in the 2nd quarter, which was fueled by their pressure defense. Davion Mack and Kaylen Brooks led the way with 14 points each, DJ Corbin had 9 points, D'Vontae Johnson added 8 and Andrew Brooks chipped in 7 off the bench. Dover was led by Dieter Weber with 20 points and Robbie Copple with 10. Senior High (8-2, 5-2 in the OCC0 is now just one game behind Dover *-4, 6-1) in the league.

  • WMAN High School Boys Basketball - January 6th, 2026 - Upper Sandusky at Shelby

    The Shelby Whippets won their 4th game in a row on Tuesday, 63-46, at home vs the Upper Sandusky Rams. Shelby led by 1 point after the 1st quarter and by two at halftime, 27-25, thanks to a 3 point field goal at the buzzer by Avery Lambert. Brayden DeVito scored a game-high 26 points for the Whippets, 10 in the first half and 16 more in the final two quarters. DeVito, who is now 17 points away from 1,000 for his career, has scored 20 or more points in all 4 games he has played in this year. Upper Sandusky was led by Luke and Matt Schoenberger, who combined for 31 points. Luke had 17 off the bench, while Matt added 14. Michael Shepherd also scored in double figures for the Whippets with 10. Shelby is now 5-2 on the year.

  • High School Basketball - Shelby at Lexington - January 3rd, 2026

    The Shelby Whippets won their 3 straight game on Saturday night, as the defeated Lexington, 70-49, on the road. The Whippets outscored the Minutemen in all 4 quarters: 17-10 in the 1st, 17-11 in the 2nd to lead at the half, 34-21. Shelby by four points in each of the 3rd and 4th quarters to improve to 4-2 overall. The Whippets led by as many as 26 points. Shelby (4-2) had 4 players in double figures: Brayden DeVito 20 points, Kayden Paz 13, while Landon Foltz and Gavin Miller each added 10. The loss for Lexington is their 3rd in a row. The Minutemen (4-4) were led in scoring by Jayden Perkins with 20, while Ethan Bianchi chipped in 11 and Jace Dawson had 10.

  • High School Basketball - New Philadelphia at Mansfield Senior - December 12th, 2025

    The Mansfield Senior boys basketball team improved to 4-0 on Friday, December 12th, with a 62-52 win at Pete Henry gym over New Philadelphia. It was the TYgers home opener, as three players scored in double figures for Senior High: Kaylen Brooks with 17, Davion Mack with 16 points, which included 10/12 at the free throw line and one thunderous dunk, and Rashad Reed with 15 points. Mansfield Senior used a 12-1 run in the 4th quarter to pull away, after the Quakers tied the game at 39-39. The TYgers outscored New Philadelphia, 23-17, in the final quarter to move to 2-0 in the Ohio Cardinal Conference. The Quakers suffered their 1st loss of the year and are now 2-1 overall and 0-1 in the OCC. *Game aired live on WMAN*

    The Ontario Warriors are 4-0 in high school boys basketball for the 1st time since the 2017-18 season. Ontario beat Galion on Thursday by a final score of 62-53. Ontario was led in scoring by Trindon Flenoury with 18, Cardae Brown 17, Jamir Jones with 13 and Trey Remy had 11 points. The Warriors move to 2-0 in the MOAC, while Galion drops to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the league. Jameson Glew led the Tigers with 12 points. *The game was broadcast live on WMAN 12/11/25*

  • High School Football - Week 16 - Shelby vs Glenville - (State Championship Game December 5th, 2025

    The Shelby Whippets historic season came to an end on Friday in the Division IV State Championship game in Canton, as the Whippets fell to Glenville, 45-7, at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium. The game was tied 7-7 in the 2nd quarter, after Michael Shepherd scored on a 1 yard TD at the 11:39 mark. Glenville (12-3) would go on to score 38 unanswered points in route to winning their 3 state title in 4 years (2022, 2023, 2025). Shelby finished the great season in school history at 14-1 and their 1st ever appearance in the state championship game. The Tarblooders defense held Shelby to just 26 yards of offense.     Carter Kessler, Brayden DeVito and coach Rob Mahaney of the Shelby Whippets joined Aaron Hines and Erik Will in the WMAN postgame show after Shelby beat Indian Hill, 42-7, in the Division IV State Semi-Final. Shelby (14-0) will play for the state championship for the 1st time in school history on Friday, December 5th vs Glenville in Canton.
