    About this Sermon:

When we think of Christmas, we often think of peace and joy, but we forget the word that underlies everything in the Christmas story: GRACE. God’s grace transcends any of the superficial or manufactured feelings of Christmas. When we accept God’s grace, He will forgive and enrich us because of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross.

This message was preached on December 12, 1976, at the Moody Church in Chicago, IL, when Dr. Wiersbe served as the Senior Pastor.

    Scripture Reference: 1 Corinthians 8:1-9

    About this Series:

This special Advent series reminds us of the grace of God that was made known at Christmas.

  • Faith That Can't Be Tested, Can't Be Trusted (Genesis 22)
    Nov 10 2025

When Faith Doesn't Make Sense, What Then?

Life is a school of learning from God and it helps us to grow in our faith. Abraham stayed in the school of faith his entire life, and studying him, we see what we can expect our lives to be like when we live by faith. Going through life in faith allows us to grow through the tests we face.

This message was preached at the Moody Church in Chicago, IL, when Dr. Wiersbe served as the Senior Pastor.

    Scripture Reference: Genesis 22

Many people miss the blessings of today because they are carrying the burdens of yesterday and worrying about the problems of tomorrow. But when we have Jesus as our Savior, we can live as He did—one day at a time. Ask God for the strength to face each new day, and He will give you what you need.

This message was preached on April 24, 1977, at the Moody Church in Chicago, IL, when Dr. Wiersbe served as the Senior Pastor.

  • Under Authority! (Luke 7)
    Oct 27 2025

In the Old Testament, God often took inventory of His people. In the New Testament, Paul told the church to examine themselves before God. If we don’t know what we have and where we are, we don’t know what to do or where to go. Pastor Wiersbe looks at the characteristics of the centurion in Luke 7 to help us examine our own lives.

This message was preached on April 17, 1977, at the Moody Church in Chicago, IL, when Dr. Wiersbe served as the Senior Pastor.

    Scripture Reference: Luke 7:1-10

  • This is the Life! (Colossians 3:1-17)

Warren Wiersbe shares three reasons everyone should accept and share life in Christ—the holiest life possible.

Years later, Warren published a book under the same title as this sermon, This is the Life! Check it out on Amazon.

This message was preached on April 10, 1977, at the Moody Church in Chicago, IL, when Dr. Wiersbe served as the Senior Pastor.

We are all born sinners, and we all face the same decision that Nicodemus faced: do we choose to find the light, or do we stay in darkness?

This message was preached on April 20, 1975, at the Moody Church in Chicago, IL, when Dr. Wiersbe served as the Senior Pastor.
