À propos de cet audio

Growing up my mom would hear drawers and closets opening and closing and see me scrambling around the house and call out, "What are you looking for?" Whether it was my hat, keys, wallet or shoes, she always somehow knew where things just were. It's safe to say I have lived many of my childhood dreams. As a kid, I dreamed of being a skeleton athlete and a firemen. I've got the crayon drawings to prove it. Twenty some years later, I've checked those boxes but what they didn't tell me back then is that it wouldn't fill up my life. I have always lived my life with an obvious next goal, at least till now. Retired from sports, happily married and working as a professional firefighter, I'm not sure what is next. I'm on a journey to find out what people are looking for in this life in hopes that maybe one of them has the answer for me too. Join me as I catch up with old friends and make some new ones. We will have current and former athletes, religious leaders and heads of business, artists and creatives. We'll talk life, joy, passion and whatever else comes up in search of the answer to one simple question, What Are You Looking For?

On Episode 1 of What Are You Looking For? Mike sits down with his friend and former skeleton teammate, Veronica Day. We talk about how the current trend of hustle culture has become toxic and side hustles can be a drag. Veronica retired from skeleton and now lives in Telluride with her partner who is also a former athlete. After years of adrenaline seeking, sliding at 80+ miles per hour down ice tracks, she is now humbling herself and learning to ski the green runs.
