  • Episode 1: Seeking God in Courtship, Marriage and Where The Relationship Went Wrong
    Nov 5 2025

Section 1: The Beginning - Adam and Eve

Let's start at the very beginning with God's design for relationships. When God created Adam, He said something profound: "It is not good for man to be alone." This wasn't just about companionship - God was establishing the foundation of marriage: one man for one woman. He created Eve as Adam's perfect partner, and we see the first courtship and marriage in human history.

But things went wrong, and we need to understand why. The breakdown in Adam and Eve's relationship reveals critical lessons about communication and obedience that we still need today.

First, there were serious communication failures. When the serpent approached Eve with deception, she lacked the listening skills to recognize the lie. She failed to remember and heed God's clear instructions about staying away from that forbidden tree. But here's the most important part - Eve did not confide in her husband about the temptation she was facing.

Now, Scripture doesn't give us all the details about where Adam was during this time, but here's the principle: we should wait patiently for both God's guidance AND our partner's counsel before making major decisions. Hasty decisions made under outside influence can be incredibly destructive - just like Proverbs 21:9 warns us about.

The fruits of their disobedience were devastating: suffering within their marriage, the introduction of sin into the world, and ongoing challenges in raising children, including dealing with wickedness.

Where Are Your Diamonds? - Episode 1: Introduction

Welcome to Where Are Your Diamonds?

[INTRO MUSIC FADES IN AND OUT]

[INTRO MUSIC FADES IN AND OUT]

Hi there, and welcome to "Where Are Your Diamonds?" I'm the Creator, Santanna Tiara Dickens, but you can call me Tiara. Growing up, my uncle called me "Beau" or "Tiara," and in high school, my best friend would play Dru Hill's "Beauty Is Her Name" because he said it captured my essence. But today, I want to talk to you about a beauty that runs much deeper.

    God's Daily Reminder

    [PAUSE]

For the past year and six months, God has been sending me the sun every single day as a reminder—not just for me, but for all of us Black women—that He sees our amazing existence. We were created for so much more than what the world tells us.

Our inner and outer beauty? That's the very foundation of earth's strength. We were formed from Adam's rib while he slept with divine purpose, as Genesis 2:21-22 tells us. We are living examples of God's first institution of marriage, called to honor Him and listen for His instructions.

Now, scripture doesn't give us a dating manual or courtship guidelines, but Genesis makes one thing clear: God said it wasn't good for man to be alone. He created woman for relationship. Has it been perfect? No. But that's exactly what we'll explore together in future episodes.

    The Story Behind the Name

Let me tell you how "Where Are Your Diamonds?" came to be.

Picture this: It's mid-afternoon in June, the hottest day you can imagine in Mississippi. I'm rushing into the post office, trying to mail credit dispute letters to all three bureaus—for the fourth time, mind you—armed with even more documentation. The year is 2025, and I'm still fighting with TransUnion with mailed documents.

I'm stressed, sweating, wearing gym shorts, and honestly just trying to handle my business. That's when this older gentleman—well-dressed, well-spoken, clearly established—turns around, looks me up and down, and asks with genuine confusion: "Where are your diamonds?"

His face showed shock, puzzlement, like he couldn't understand why a woman like me wasn't adorned with jewels. He saw something in my feminine presence that I had forgotten to see in myself.
