What are 'risk tipping points' and why you need to know about them.
The UN University Institute for Environment and Human Security has come up with six 'risk tipping points', a list of potentially catastrophic events in the world's near future.
An RTP is defined as “the moment at which a given socioecological system is no longer able to buffer risks and provide its expected functions, after which the risk of catastrophic impacts to these systems increases substantially.”
