    In our weekend recap episode, we discuss Cavalry FC's victory over Valour which clinched them a playoff spot. We also talk about USports action. The Dinos women drew Macewen to put an end to their perfect record. The Dinos men's team vaulted over the Cougars with a couple of wins while the Cougars could only get 1 point this weekend.

    Calgarian Willie Akio capped off his season playing in the Australian NPL state leagues this weekend. He scored a brace to lift his club to win their Grand Final.

    One common thread we noticed this weekend were all of the backflip celebrations. In the Cavalry match, both Goteh Ntiginee and Caniggia Elva wowed the crowd with their post goal celebrations. In Edmonton, Mykena Walker surprised the play by play person with a backflip after she scored. And Willie Akio also did his trademark backflip celebration in Australia.

    We interview Cavalry FC centre back Levi Laing about joining the club in mid-season, his career, and his thoughts on his performance as a member of the Cavs thus far. He also talks about his goal of playing international football with either England or Jamaica.

    The Calgary Wild lost to the Ottawa Rapid 2-1 on Wednesday night. An injury time goal by DB Pridham extends the Wild losing streak to five games. We talk about the match and what can be gained in these final few matches of 2025.

    The Dinos and Cougars men's teams will host schools from British Columbia this weekend. Most notably, MRU will battle #1 nationally ranked UBC. The women's USports clubs are in Edmonton this weekend. The SAIT Trojans have a Friday evening doubleheader in Lethbridge. We preview all of these matches.

  • Cavs win crucial battle vs HFX while Wild slide to new depths with another loss

    We review Cavalry FC's 3-1 victory over HFX Wanderers on the weekend. This match creates some space between the Cavs and Halifax for third spot in the table. And if you were wondering what was the deal with Eric Kobza trying to get into the car as part of his goal celebration, we have the behind the scenes answer about what was happening.

    The Calgary Wild lost 5-0 to the Montreal Roses and McMahon on the weekend. It just seems to be getting worse for the club as they have now been outscored 15-0 in the past four games. We discuss the match and Scott provides his theory as to why the Wild have struggled of late.

    Dinos and Cougars and Trojans all had matches on the road this weekend. Between these six teams (men's and women's for each school), they had a combined record of 10 wins and 2 draws. We summarize their matches.

  • Cavs battle for third place vs HFX while SAIT women face stern test against Red Deer

    Both of Calgary's pro soccer clubs play matches at home at 2pm on Saturday afternoon. At Spruce Meadows, Cavalry FC faces Halifax in a match that means a lot in the battle for third place in the table. The Calgary Wild are trying to snap out of their slump when the play Montreal at McMahon Stadium. We preview both matches.

    The Dinos and Cougars men's teams are both heading on a British Columbia road trip. The Cougars women's team travels to Winnipeg for a couple of matches against the Bisons while the Dinos head to Lethbridge for two matches against the Pronghorns. The SAIT Trojans also hit the road, travelling up the HIghway #2 to play Red Deer on Saturday and Olds on Sunday.

  • Pros suffer demoralizing defeats while post-secondary teams triumph

    The Calgary Wild were thumped 6-0 by the Vancouver Rise on the weekend. We recap the game and muse about why the wheels have fallen off over the last few matches. It looks like the playoffs are going to be out of reach for the Wild. We talk about how this season hasn't really worked out.

    Cavalry FC also suffered a loss on the road this weekend. York United scored some nice goals and defended well and beat Cavalry 3-1. We discuss this lacklustre performance by the Cavs and how the playoff race is shaping up.

    The MRU Cougars soundly defeated the U of C Dinos 4-0 in the men's division Crowchild Classic. We talk about that match as well as women's USports action.

    The ACAC started their season this weekend and SAIT racked up a few easy victories. What would it be like to see SAIT join USports and play against the Dinos and Cougars? Could it ever happen?

  • Two post secondary derbies in Calgary, Cavs and Wild on the road

    We preview Cavalry FC's match in Toronto vs York United as well as the Calgary Wild's game against the Vancouver Rise. As their respective seasons are nearing the end both clubs are looking to make a final regular season push.

    While the pro seasons are nearing completion, post secondary soccer is starting to heat up. The first edition of the Crowchild Classic this season happens this weekend at McMahon where the Cougars men's team faces the Dinos. The women's teams are in Edmonton to face the Pandas and Griffins.

    The ACAC season kicks off with another Calgary derby as SAIT takes on Ambrose on Sunday afternoon. We take a closer look at the Trojans lineups as both the men's and women's teams are expected to have strong seasons. And we ponder what would be a good name for the SAIT vs Ambrose derby.
