  • Emily Turkovic - Turning Grief into Purpose; How lived experience can shape an entire career

    Emily Turkovic is an early-career community pharmacist based in Ipswich, Queensland, bringing a strong advocacy lens to her work in harm reduction. Since graduating in 2023, she has channelled personal experience into purposeful action, using her platform to promote safer use initiatives and reduce stigma around drug-related harms.

    Her commitment to education has seen her contribute as a sessional academic, CPD content writer, and peer reviewer, with a focus on translating evidence into accessible learning for both pharmacists and the public.

    Emily’s early career has already included several standout moments, including presenting as a guest speaker at the 2025 QUT White Coat Ceremony, developing take-home naloxone CPD content, and delivering health promotion work during her intern year that led to an AJP feature and a regional radio interview. Each opportunity reflects her willingness to say yes to growth and to use her voice for meaningful impact.
