The Washington Youth Tour, organized by the nation’s electric cooperatives, is Georgia’s oldest leadership development program for high school students,
and Jackson EMC sponsors four local students each year. Participants meet
students from across the nation as they learn about history and public service
while visiting national monuments, memorials and museums. Students have
the opportunity to meet their United States senators and representatives. North Gwinnett senior Jillian Vacha joins Your Power Your Community host Karen Ewing to talk about her experience as a Jackson EMC delegates, including her day on Capitol Hill and taking a selfie with Senator Jon Ossoff.
