We've heard the Christmas story so much it's probably become "old hat" by now. This session let's look at it from the standpoint of fear. Because all the principle players were told — "DO NOT BE AFRAID."

And like Mary, we have no reason to fear. That little baby grew up to be a man who satisfied every requirement of God's wrath. Because of Jesus and the salvation God provides through His death and resurrection, man can receive God's grace simply because He chose to give it to him.

Living under the spirit of fear has been our series theme this fall. This session we will discuss living in fear of world events — things that are out of our control. When we live under the spirit of fear, the enemy can use ANYTHING that is unknown to intimidate us. World events are unknown. Not one of us can control the weather, or the leaders of other countries, or the citizens of other countries or our neighbors next door. BUT we do know the One who is in control of everything — Whose sovereign plan was laid before the foundation of the world. With God in control and our total faith in Him, we have absolutely no reason to live in the spirit of fear. This session we are going to Jeremiah.

Saul is the picture of what fear does to us — whether it be fear of man, rejection, self or failure. As a believer, I have 2 choices — faith in God and His eternal word or embrace the fear the enemy uses against me. God's word says: For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV) And according to God's word, fear ain't from Him.
