Yoga is divided into several branches, ranging from that which teaches the control of the body, to that which teaches the attainment of the highest spiritual development. In the work we will not go into the higher phases of the subject, except when the "science of breath" touches upon the same. The Science of Breath touches yoga at many points, and although chiefly concerned with the development and control of the physical, has also its psychic side, and even enters the field of spiritual development.

We greet our old students who have returned to us for the advanced course. We feel that, hereafter, it will not be necessary to repeat the elementary explanations which formed such an important part of the former class work, and we may be able to go right to the heart of the subject, feeling assured that each student is prepared to receive the same. No occult teaching is ever wasted - all bears fruit in its own good time.

We see, as they perhaps do not, that to many of them, this series of lessons will be as seed planted in fertile soil - which will in due time put forth sprouts, which will force their way gradually into the sunlight of consciousness where they will put forth leaves, blossom and fruit. Many of the fragments of truth which will be presented to you will not be recognized by you at this time; but in years to come, you will recognize the verity of the impressions which will be conveyed to you in these lessons.
