Just over two years ago, I began my journey with post traumatic stress disorder, PTSD. Through the struggles, there have been times where I thought I would be unable to continue the things I enjoyed: work, soccer, volunteering, and socializing. The triggers of April 6, 2020 continued, but lessened. I am still brought back to that day by everyday triggers that act as a reminder. When it happens, I revisit that beautiful, sunny day where I was redeployed to the makeshift morgue and saw the atrocities of the time.

This audiobook contains poems about places, problems, and people that the author has encountered over his 70 plus years of life. They are reflections on relationships and struggles, as well as on the natural and built-in environment where we live.

I wrote this book by imagination in poetry. About relationships had or would like to have. Some poems are romantic, some jokey. Others here and there come to mind of kind of everywhere. As the world turns on its love lights.

I wrote this anthology over a period of 11 years on and off. This book is borne from an encouragement and cheer ministry I have on the job plus the special gift I have in writing Christian poetry. I have been writing and reading verses and poems to cheer the sick I care for. I added a Bible verse each time, and both were received well and created joy in their hearts.

Then came a time to build my shattered life. I had my legal work, of course, but that was not enough. I rafted for a week down Colorado River rapids. The scenes and feelings evoked there gave birth to river poems presented here. At that time, too, I wanted back the home life I’d abandoned recklessly. The love poems written at that time reflect the hopes and fears and turmoil driving me. I, also in those years, wrote legal articles that most properly have since been long forgotten and ignored.

Poetry is about empathy, imagination, observation, and about internal and external truths. These works focus on a person's relationship with nature, others, and self, through depicting hope, love, memory, shame, immortality, acceptance, faith, happiness, confidence, passion, recognition, diversity, perseverance, forgiveness, vulnerability, and loneliness. Nevertheless, this poetry collection is like an assortment of gothic romances, because, despite a melodramatic imagination, love somehow finds a way to dominate and triumph all else.

This is for all the beings in a world of fighting for freedom of good, creative, and loyal penmanship. The universe is one of a unique yet sometimes agitated system. My collection of poems has anything from my personal life experiences to a little advice based on those experiences, to thoughts that I had to put down on paper, to me giving my own definition of a word then elaborating on it.
