In this interview we spoke to Alastair about all three of his audiobooks and how things have changed for him over the years. Along the way we covered would he rather be too hot or too cold, adventure with a friend or alone, and even if it works to be married to someone with a different perspective on his travels.

Joining us at Audible Studios is Ransom Riggs, the author of the Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children series, to speak to us about the newest installment in the series: A Map of Days. Joining us in the Audible Studios to talk about his latest novel, Salvation, is best-selling science-fiction author Peter F. Hamilton. Coined the king of space opera, Peter F. Hamilton has created some of science fiction’s most vast and extensive universes, making him one of Britain’s biggest selling sci-fi authors. Known for The Night’s Dawn trilogy and the Commonwealth Saga in particular, Hamilton embarks on a new universe, publishing Salvation, the first book in a brand-new trilogy, in 2018.

Mike Brooks joins us in the Audible Studios to chat about his Keiko series and the latest instalment, Dark Deeds. He tells us how he juggles a full-time job with writing and what we can expect of protagonist Captain Ichabod Drift and paints us a picture of the world in the books - set in space in the future.

Dahl has been contributing editor at Men’s Vogue, Conde Nast Traveller and British Vogue. Her literary career began in 2003, when she released her first book, an illustrated novella which became a Times best seller, titled The Man with the Dancing Eyes. She has gone on to release cookery books, including Miss Dahl’s Voluptuous Delights, and cookery shows. Dahl, married to jazz singer Jamie Cullum, has two children and lives in Buckinghamshire. Her newest book is her first for children and is titled Madame Badobedah.

Joining us in the studio to talk about his latest book, Rebel Ideas, is British table tennis Olympian, author, journalist and broadcaster Matthew Syed. Known for being the ping-pong guy from popular sports podcast Flintoff, Savage and the Ping Pong Guy, Matthew Syed started his career as a table tennis player, competing in two Olympic games, and was ranked as a top player in England for 10 years. Since then, Matthew moved on to a career in journalism, writing a column in The Times and broadcasting on the BBC and Eurosport.

Joining us in the Audible Studios to talk about his latest book, Life 3.0, is renowned physicist and cosmologist Max Tegmark. A professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and scientific director of the Foundational Questions Institute, Tegmark cofounded the Future of Life institute and has been instrumental in advising on AI research. His latest book, Life 3.0, looks at the new age of artificial intelligence and the consequences of it.

Joining us in the Audible Studios to talk about playing the role of Mrs Hubbard in Murder on the Orient Express is lauded British actress Jane Asher. A key figure of the 1960s, Asher has worked extensively across TV, film and stage throughout her career, starting from childhood. Her most notable roles include Annie in Alfie, Angel Samson in the 2001 revival of Crossroads and Celia Ryder in the 1981 television version of Brideshead Revisited. Award-winning author and photojournalist Bella Bathurst talks to Audible about her latest title, Sound: Stories of Hearing Lost and Found. He speaks to us about how as humans we look to balance the rational and the emotional, why we need to be skeptical about everything, and why some issues should not be debated.

Joining us for a chat is the people's poet laureate, the punk performance poet, John Cooper Clarke, who is releasing his memoir I Wanna Be Yours. Clarke, born in Salford, is well known for his classic look of drainpipe jeans, wild black hair and sunglasses, whatever the weather, something which hasn't changed since the 1970s. Being inspired and encouraged by an English teacher at school, Clarke decided that he would make a living from poetry. He performed with many hugely successful bands, such as The Sex Pistols, Joy Division and New Order.

Miller played the lead role in Death in Paradise before leaving to spend more time with his family. Beyond television, Miller has acted in films such as Johnny English (2003) and its sequel, Molly Moon and the Incredible Book of Hypnotism (2014), and on stage in The Ladykillers (2011) and The Duck House. His directorial debut was the film Huge. We'll be chatting to Ben Miller about his book The Boy Who Made the World Disappear, his partnership with Alexander Armstrong and what he would put into a black hole.

Prof Steve Peters visits Audible to discuss his latest book, The Silent Guides, which draws on what we learnt from his best seller The Chimp Paradox. The Tony-nominated actor now plays the part of Charles Dickens in the audio drama Dodge and Twist. In this interview, Stephen Mangan talks to us about what it’s like to voice a Victorian, why he didn’t get to sing in Postman Pat: The Movie and what got him into acting.

Born in Maidenhead in 1962, O'Farrell has gone from the West End to satirising politicians and from standing for election to comedic scriptwriting.

James Bennet joins us in the studio to talk about his Ben Garston series and the latest release, Raising Fire. He introduces us to the series and his characters, tells us how fantasy and the real world interact and explains why this book is a little darker.
