The Adventures of Buster Bear follows a bear who has moved from the Great Woods to the Green Forest. Unknown to the little people of the Green Forest, Buster Bear, although is big and has a grumbly rumbly voice is actually very shy. As with most Burgess books, there is a positive morale to the story.

Lightfoot the Deer is a story about animals in the Green Forest that are hunted in the fall. The story is mostly about Lightfoot, a male deer hunted by one hunter and describes how he tries to escape being shot. The story tells Lightfoot's encounter with another buck and a battle for territory and the lovely, Miss Daintyfoot. As with most Thornton Burgess books, young listeners learn valuable lessons about nature, wildlife, and positive morals.

In The Adventures of Danny Meadow Mouse, Danny begins his tale regretting the length of his tail until he is corrected by Mr. Toad. Then he has a series of stalkings by Reddy Fox and Granny Fox. He is captured by Hooty the Owl but escapes midflight to fall into Peter Rabbit's briar patch. Peter goes to Farmer Brown's peach orchard, gets caught in a snare, and barely escapes. Finally, Danny gets trapped in a tin can and must use his wits to escape Reddy Fox again.

In The Adventures of Peter Cottontail, Peter Rabbit doesn't like his name and tries to find another that has more prestige. His friends think he is silly and devise a scheme to show Peter the problem with changing his name. Peter learns his mistake and changes his name back.

The Zeppelin’s Passenger is a tale of German espionage in England during World War I. Dreymarsh is a fictional "backwater” area in England with no apparent military value. The story begins with Dreymarsh residents discovering an observation car from a German zeppelin along with a Homburg hat near Dreymarsh. The mystery is further complicated when an Englishman, Mr. Hamar Lessingham, presents himself at Mainsail Haul which is the residence of Sir Henry Cranston.

Private investigator Cole Harper doesn't go looking for trouble, but when a woman walks into his office claiming her husband is cheating, a simple domestic case turns into something far more dangerous. A photo, a Chinatown receipt, and a string of half-truths lead Harper into a fog of deception, opium dens, and velvet-draped rooms where the wrong question can get a man killed.

"The History of the Standard Oil Company" is a book written by journalist Ida Tarbell in 1904. It was an exposé of the Standard Oil Company, run at that time by oil tycoon John D. Rockefeller the richest figure in America's history. Originally serialized in 19 parts in McClure's magazine, the book was a seminal example of muckraking, and inspired many other journalists to write about trusts, large businesses that (in the absence of strong antitrust law in the 19th century) attempted to gain monopolies in various industries.

Buster Bear's Twins is a story about two new residents in the Green Forest, Boxer and Woof Woof bear. The arrival of the Green Forest's newest inhabitants has Peter Rabbit, Chatterer the Red Squirrel, Prickly Porky, Hooty the Owl, and other forest creatures all astir over the goings-on in the Bear household. The two are twin siblings of Buster Bear, who is the subject of a Thornton Burgess audiobook. The twins, under the guidance of their mother, Mrs. Bear, learn important lessons about life and survival in the Green Forest.

Sammy Jay is told by the little people of the Green Forest that he is keeping them awake at night with his calling out "Thief, Thief". But Sammy isn’t calling out at night, he’s been sleeping. At least, he thinks he has. Sticky-Toes the tree toad is hearing his own voice when his mouth is shut, and he is angry and puzzled. And Unc’ Billy Possum thinks he may just have seen a friend from Ol’ Virginny who might possibly solve the mystery.

Grandfather Frog has never left the Smiling Pool. He and Mr. Toad have an ongoing disagreement about whether or not Grandfather Frog should see the Great World or remain isolated in the Smiling Pool. Finally one day, Grandfather Frog decides he will see the Great World for himself. He learns that there are hardships in the Great World that he didn’t anticipate and he must constantly be on alert for dangers not in the Smiling Pool.

The Adventures of Johnny Chuck tells the story of a feisty woodchuck named Johnny. Johnny decides he is unhappy with his home in the Green Forest and elects to venture into the wide, wide world. As he wanders he gets into a territory fight with another chuck, discovers a new home, learns there is some good in all, and discovers the most wonderful thing in the world.

Biff Brewster receives a 16th birthday present to go to Brazil to be with his father. Biff believes he will be going on a safari. Before leaving, Biff receives a secret letter from Mr. Stannart of the Ajax Company to give to his father. Stannart informs Biff that his father is not looking for rubber plantations, as many at the Company believe, but instead is looking for a secret gold mine. As Biff quickly discovers, others are also looking for the secret gold mine and will stop at nothing to find it. In addition to thieves, Native headhunters and wild rivers await Biff and his father.

Commander Walter Topham, assigned as an attaché in Japan, is requested by the Secretary of State to deliver a sealed secret document via the Berlin embassy en route to Japan. Topham agrees to travel to Japan via Berlin. He meets and falls in love with the Countess de Ouro Preto on the steamer voyage, not knowing she is part of a conspiracy. He is drugged on the sea journey and attacked while traveling by train to Berlin by plotters who want to prevent the document from reaching Berlin.

Biff Brewster receives a mysterious, urgent telegram from his uncle, Charles Keene, from Martinique, asking him to come quickly. Biff's parents reluctantly allow Biff to make the trip. During the airline trip, Biff meets another boy, Derek, who looks like Biff. After making friends on the flight, they decide to play a trick on Biff's uncle by exchanging identities. The exchanged identity backfires as Biff is kidnapped by thieves hoping to find and steal a pearl fishery that Dere's father has discovered.

Canna III is a water planet with a single large island. The island is bordered by a high cliff. Civilians irrigating the land has caused issues where soil and bedrock meet. The land has been turned into a saltwater swamp, turned upside down. The swamp is sliding into the ocean, taking inhabitable land with it. Compounding the problem is a fuel leak from underground tanks threatening to detonate. Two Colonial Survey troubleshooters have been called to the planet to try and rectify the situation.

Critical Difference is the story of a Colonial Survey Officer named Massey assigned to a barren, frozen planet to check and approve colony installations. He discovers that this world's temperature is gradually getting colder. Eventually, the declining temperature will make the colony uninhabitable. The colony receives a coded message that the same thing is happening to their home world. The colonists rely on Massey to find a solution.

James Arthur Fradin, an eminent professor and scientist, has a new theory about radio waves. He believes he has found that radio waves and power are transmitted through the fourth dimension. He is met with disbelief and disdain when presenting his unique and controversial view to a distinguished group of scientists at a conference. However, one individual, a spy at the meeting, listens with extreme interest. If Fradin is correct, power becomes unlimited and is used for evil purposes. The spy, Marvak, needs to be stopped, but how?
