Fresh off barely stopping a plot to derail the world’s economy, Special Agent Emily Slate finds herself faced with a new and strange case: a body found drained of all its blood in a small Louisiana town. The local police can’t seem to make heads or tails of it while Emily’s boss insists this is the perfect case for her. But when Emily arrives to begin her investigation, alone and without backup, she discovers superstition embedded deep in the small community of Bellefleur. Superstition which only grows when a second body is discovered.

After some harrowing cases and some narrow misses, Emily knows that an FBI Agent’s job is never done as she returns to the small mountain town of Stillwater. What at first looks like an accident, is soon revealed to be part of something more sinister: A hunter, using humans as his targets. The only problem is, Emily can’t prove it. But she’s been in this job long enough to know a predator when she sees one.

After coming to terms with her husband’s death, Special FBI agent Emily Slate thought she’d finally be able to move on with her life. But when the assassin who has been hunting her shows up on her front door with a gun in her hand, Emily knows it’s far from over. It seems the assassin has been betrayed by the same Organization who hired her, and must now rely on Emily to help her enact her revenge. But when Emily refuses, the assassin raises the stakes, putting Emily’s personal life in danger and giving her no choice but to comply.
