In his quest for closure, Roland surrounds the city in a magical barrier that blocks all methods of escape - or help - giving him time to seek out an ancient artifact powerful enough to put an end to everyone and everything once and for all.

Otherwise, you might find yourself roped into a murder investigation with a psychopath attempting to rewrite the Twelve Days of Christmas as a holiday homicide special, asked to rescue a former international spy, forced to dodge bullets with a Valkyrie, or to take on a power-hungry Fae intent on freezing everything he touches.

Quinn MacKenna is a black-magic arms dealer from Boston, but her world drastically changed after accidentally robbing Nate Temple a few weeks ago. Primarily, that her absolution might have come with some strings attached.... Like a trip to the Big Apple to steal a mysterious and deadly artifact for Grimm Tech - strictly off the books. But it doesn't take her long to learn that she isn't the only one after the magical whatsit, and that the monsters in New York play for keeps. And that's before she learns that Heaven and Hell have stepped into the game....

It's almost Nate's birthday, so, he can cry if he wants to. That is, if he lives to see it.... Because a lot of people want him dead: his fiancée, his long-lost ancestor, the good wizards, the dark wizards, and.... Look, it's easier to list who doesn't want to kill him. To prevent a shifter-versus-wizard war, Nate steps in to draw a line in the sand, picking a fight with the deadliest magic slingers on the planet... and then he tries to rob them.

Fae are missing all over Boston, and apparently, no one else is suicidal enough to look into it. Good thing Quinn MacKenna - black magic arms dealer and Fae half-breed - has been searching for a way to earn back some of Boston’s goodwill after almost destroying the city...twice. Besides, favors for the Fae usually pay dividends if you play your cards right.... As long as the Fae don’t double-cross or otherwise backstab you. But that hardly ever happens.... Thankfully, Quinn has Robin Redcap to back her up.
