Her first publication, Psychotherapy, is a collection of poetry exploring the conscious, subconscious and unconscious processes of an ex-therapist trying to leave that world behind. Bad Love, Blue’s novel debut, focuses on Ekuah’s experiences of love, success and the difficult navigation of choices between the two. We chatted to Maame Blue about writing Bad Love, her inclusion in the #TwentyIn2020 initiative and finding her voice as a writer.

Joining us in the Audible Studios is one of our very own: Robin Morgan-Bentley. Robin is a Senior Manager at Audible and now also an author with his debut thriller, The Wreckage. You may also recognise his voice as the interviewer on some Audible Sessions. Robin has worked for Audible since 2014, and whilst he loves being part of the audio publishing process, he has always loved writing, too, so the ambition to create a novel seemed like the natural next step.

Karen Yates has been a journalist for over ten years; she writes regularly on immigration, politics, housing and culture and has written for publications including The Guardian, The Independent and VICE. Yates has been nominated for accolades such as Culture Writer of the Year, and has contributed to award-winning titles such as The Good Immigrant. We'll be chatting to Kieran Yates about her first solo book, All the Houses I've Ever Lived In, finding out what home means to her, how Britain's housing crisis came about, and how we can fight against it.

Making his west end debut in 1985, Ball has been a constant in musical theatre, performing many parts in Les Misérables around the country over the years, appearing in The Phantom of the Opera, Hairspray and Sweeny Todd. Ball is no stranger to the charts either: after representing the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest, he has regularly released albums. Michael has now taken to writing and we will be talking about his debut novel, The Empire.

It delves into her childhood, exploring her vulnerable and softer side, and builds a picture of how she became who she is today.

Joining us at Audible Studios is sleep expert and Professor of Circadian Neuroscience Russell Foster. He’s created a book called Life Time which looks in detail at how sleep and our body clocks are essential in building optimum routines for a healthy body and mind, and why we need to escape the trappings of the 21st century such as high-level stress and artificial light.
