Four years ago, Nick Laverdi left his hometown of Barren, New Jersey, and moved to New York City. After the well-publicized collapse of the only famous person from Barren, the town picked up a crippling reputation that it was unable to shake. Memories abound about a town that is hard to escape from. It leaves Nick questioning why he ever thought he could get away, and his arrival home does little to ease his torment. Ultimately, a conversation reminds Nick that even though he physically left Barren, it will take a lot more than relocating to wash away its stench completely.

"Kidnapped Writer" is about our melting pot here in America. The main character is Viola, and she’s having a horrible day. In fact, it is absolutely the worst day of her life. After years at her newspaper job as a writer, they’ve cut back on everything and put her into the advertising department. On her way out of town for the weekend, she gets kidnapped by a strange family needing her help.

In a future time, well after all the countries of the world have engaged in a global nuclear event, a select few have survived The Great War and reorganized civilization within a sealed Bubble. In this day and time, there are only a handful of people remaining who ever lived and breathed outside the Bubble; most habitants were born within its sealed plexi-interior. The Bubble is a monarchy with one ruler, Arch Sedric. He has commissioned an intimidating army of police called the SAC, or Security Advisor Cadre.
