Women in Love is a novel by British author D. H. Lawrence. It is a sequel to his earlier novel The Rainbow and follows the continuing loves and lives of the Brangwen sisters, Gudrun and Ursula. Gudrun Brangwen, an artist, pursues a destructive relationship with Gerald Crich, an industrialist.

NBC University Theater initially started in Chicago with a remit to bring adaptations of classic novels, usually Anglo-American, to a radio audience. There are angry words, and then a fight between the brothers. But the work goes on, visitors come and go, and the long hot summer day slowly turns to evening. It remains a challenging text (and is studied widely). It is particularly effective as an audiobook in the hands of reader Paul Slack, who comes from Nottinghamshire.
